Is God your AUTHORITY?

I do not think so. 1 John 2:19............
"They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us."

That is what I was referring to.
You are not on the correct text.

I must agree with you .We are human and do not like it when someone shows us the truth and our pride stands in the way .
If you do not believe the Holy Spirit meant to say be baptized for the remission of your sins or be baptized to wash away your sins then you will not believe in baptism . I believe that every word that the Holy Spirit had written was for the reason that He said it was for. If you believe that it was meant to say or mean something else ,God allows you to believe anything you want to . All I can do is point out what the Holy Spirit has said.

Unfortunately you are placing yourself in the position of being the only one with the correct exegeses of the Scriptures. I would caution you against such action as it places you in a very bad position as it would anyone else.

All YOU can do is read the same Scriptures that I and others read and ask the same Holy Spirit to give us direction and knowledge so that we can rightly divide the Word of God.

Water baptism is NOT necessary for salvation, but it is something that God wants us to do if we have the opportunity to do so. When we get baptized, we are making a public profession of our faith. We are displaying outwardly what has happened inwardly. Baptism pictures the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We symbolize our faith in the Gospel in being baptized. It is similar to wearing a wedding ring. The ring doesn’t make you married, it is simply a symbol of ownership. You own each other. If the ring is destroyed, the marriage is still valid. Two people do not need a ring to be married in God’s eyes.

Likewise, water baptism does not save, nor is it required to be saved... “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that BELIEVETH NOT shall be damned” (Mark 16:16). The emphasis is upon BELIEVING. Water baptism cannot save a person any more than walking into a garage makes one an automobile. A wedding ring means nothing if you have no marriage.Likewise, water baptism means nothing if you haven't believed in your heart on the Lord. Salvation is of the heart.

When you miss that.......you miss everything my friend.

I understand from God's word that if I lead you away from the Truth that ( I ) will not only have to answer for my own sins but also for your sins .
I am willing to show you the Truth ,it is up to you to except the Truth . God has given us a free will to except or not to except of His words.

That is you believe that the Holy Spirit has told you .
I believe that THE HOLY SPIRIT has told me ,baptism is essential to salvation .
Why has the Holy Spirit told us differently.
I know I am the one who should ask the Holy Spirit and read and listen .

I like to show how God's words come to reality by having those who can't see that every scripture is tied to every scripture .
Just read Matthew's account of Jesus's arrest and trial . Just read Mark's account of Jesus's arrest and trial . Just read Luke's account of Jesus's arrest and trial . Just read John's account of Jesus's arrest and trial .
When you only read one if the accounts you only understand a portion of the whole story but you BELIEVE that you have all of the story .
I know that you have been taught that you can not fall from God's Grace but that is not the Truth .

Dear Truth,
I mean no disrespect at all but you are not 100 persect correct at all. Now you say you can fall from Gods grace. I say prove it ! ;) This is the most mis-understood thing out side of what promises from God are ours in the body of Christ and especially in forums.

Grace is not something nor is righteousness something that can be here today and gone tomorrow. The devil wants us to believe this but the word of God does not teach this.
So please elighten me unto this.
Again NO DIS-RESPECT MEANT TRUTH.....
Blessings

Please reread your last post . Do you really BELIEVE that you can not lose God's grace by bad behaviour.?
It is all about what God does ?
If you are good or bad ,it is what God does?

Yes, we cannot lose our salvation hard won for us by Jesus' death on the cross by performance, just as we cannot attain salvation by performance.

Yes, it is all about what God has done!!

God sees us as perfect already. He is the perfect Father who cannot renege on His promises, or cast out a child of His own, who has been forgiven of all his sin, and washed in the blood of the Lamb.

That is you believe that the Holy Spirit has told you .

Holy Spirit is telling you that baptism is not essential to salvation, but you are not hearing Him. People have a filter in their mind and often it is set too high, filtering out even God's word.

Think about this for a minute or two:

If water baptism is essential for salvation, then why are we not out there setting up baptismal stations and inviting unbelievers to be baptized?

Let me tell you. It is because only those who have received the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord is invited to be baptized. The bible teaches us that it is representational of our Saviours, death, burial and resurrection, and that we identify with Jesus Christ and what He has done for us by submitting to the water in this way. Unbelievers are not required!

All I can do is show you the Truth, I can't make you believe it .Acts 2:38 and Acts 22:16 are very clear about what baptism is for .1Timothy 4:1 is very clear that we can leave God .
I still can't understand why you add words to the scriptures ,( representative) is nowhere .
I have said it before but to help you understand ,I will point it out again .
Baptism ONLY does not save .
Faith ONLY does not save .
Works ONLY does not save .
We are ONLY saved by the Grace of God ,nothing we do will ever be worth the sacrifice God gave for us when He allowed Jesus Christ to be the perfect sacrifice ,to be crucified and shed His blood so that we can have forgiveness of our sins but ONLY if we will do what God has asked us to do .
Hear His word.
Believe His word
Believe and confess that Jesus Christ is the son of God .
Repent of our sins .
Be baptized to have our sins washed away.
Remain faithful untill death ( follow His rules )
Then and only then will He be willing ( not because He has to ) allow us to be with Him for eternity

Read 1 Timothy 4:1 .
It without a doubt shows that we can leave the faith.
It says that the " Holy Spirit EXPRESSLY " speaks that we can DEPART ,LEAVE the faith .
I don't mean any respect but please do not add or remove words from this verse.
The " HOLY SPIRIT EXPRESSLY " spoke these words .

1Timothy 4:1 THE FAIHT

Finally!
1 Tim. 4:1.....
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils."

I am always amazed at how people take a verse of Scripture and twist it to make it say what they want it to say. What you believe is only what YOU believe and it shows that you do not study to show yourself approved.

Paul deals with the false teaching of the Judizers in chapter 1. They are just as identifiable today as they were to Paul and my dear friend YOU are in fact a Judizer. That means YOU do not accept the Bible teaching that the shed blood of Jesus Christ is all that is needed to be saved. YOU want to add to the blood baptism, and rituals.

Paul is warning that there WILL BE HERETICAL teachers who will try to mislead others from the faith. If you will read 2 Thess.2 you will see that Paul warns of the coming "apostasy" which he has introduces here in Timothy.

Those who "Depart" (which in the Greek means to STAND AWAY FROM) are those who professed at one time to have the faith BUT WERE NEVER SAVED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Read 1 Timothy 4:1 .

Act like you know what you are doing my friend. I posted 3 times asking YOU to clarify the verse in dispute and you did not do that.

I was clear to you that I was referring to 1 John 2 and not 1 Timothy 4:1.

YOU are not revealing any truth whatsoever. YOU are expressing YOUR false understanding which unfortunately seem to be based in 1 Timothy 4:1............
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils".

The phrase "seducing spirits" would be applicable to your comments as you are obviously a Judizer. You are adding to the doctrine of Biblical salvation which is based solely upon the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jim.......please understand that our friend Truth is what is called a "Judizer". He believes that rituals and ceremonies must be added to the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus in order for us to be saved. THAT is why he is fixated on baptism and believing we can lose our salvation when not baptized.

He is not going to be able to enlighten you on something he has rejected in the 1st place.

You said..............
"Why has the Holy Spirit told us differently."

Maybe it was not the Holy Spirit that spoke to you.

You said................
"I know I am the one who should ask the Holy Spirit and read and listen."

And what makes YOU more important that anyone else? We are ALL equal in the sight of God and God is no respecter of persons. The important thing in Bible education my friend is the ability to LISTEN to others and learn from where they have been so that you can grow in grace and knowledge.

Why did you post so much to say nothing.
You can call me anything that makes you feel good about yourself .I am very sorry that you are unable to see the Truth .

You can call me anything that makes you feel good about yourself .I am very sorry that you are unable to see the Truth .

And because I do not agree with your theology that makes ME the one unable to see the truth.

Do you actually think that is the reason??? I mean, you really believe that?
