John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Holiness/ Christ = (Truth + Grace) Love
Something has been bothering about a lot of the preaching on "Grace" lately and it has occurred to me to point out the obvious:
You cannot 'divorce' Truth [or the law, commandments, statutes, obedience, etc...] from Grace [mercy, long-suffering, patience, etc...] because they are both existent and part of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As He is the perfect example and He is Truth and Grace in Love.
Maybe our human minds just can't fully wrap our heads around this: we NEED both the truth and grace to pursue being like Christ. So why is there so much more preaching on grace than truth? Why does it seem to me the modern church is slowly moving away from preaching the 'truths' of the Bible?
