Moving past this hurt & bitterness seems difficult :/

Not so. If the bible says what you understand from the surface reading of the letter of the word, then you will run up against a contradiction.

I completely disagree! You have to say that because of your denominational stance but I do not accept it. The Bible always explains itself and there are no contradictions to be found. Lack of proper Bible study can and does lead to misunderstanding the Word of God, to that I will agree.

I have no denominational stance. My stance only echoes what the Lord has taught me over many years. That God anoints women to lead in the area of the gift of pastor is not to be ignored.

You are correct my brother. Many women have done exactly what you say. There is no debate there and if you will just look back several pages you will see that I have said exactly that on several occasions.

In my church right now we have three women who teach Bible study classes. In each class, those wonderful ladies ask if there is a man who wants to teach that class because they do not want to overstep the bounds of Biblical authority. When The men refuse to accept the job, there is no contradiction. But those dear ladies are not pastors in a position of leadership and authority which is what the Bible says and as you see you and I are saying the same thing.

The minister of music is in fact a woman.
The piano player is a woman.
The leader of the weekly Tuesday Bible study class is a woman.

But not a single one of these ladies would accept a position of pastor for ONE reason. They have read the Word of God and believe it as it is presented to them.
You know brother, man, women can only operate within what they know of scripture. All our actions are based on what we believe to be true. If someone does not believe women can operated within the ministry gifts then their faith (actions) will prevent them from doing so.

God love you my sister and I do as well. I know what you say, I have read it from you several times.
However, please, please do yourself a favor and go to the website of the Assembly of God and read there statement of Faith.

Do not take my word for this, please. I have gotten to know you very well in the past several months and I promise you that YOU are locked in step to step with the Charismatic Pentecostal teachings. I am not saying that it good or bad simply that it is what you are saying.

The Bible simply does not say that women are to be in positions of leadership and authority. It actually says the opposite.
It is not what the Bible says, but what you are manipulating it to say for you.

"Husband of one wife" means MAN. Husband = Man. There is no other way to explain it my sister!!!

Furthermore, to conclude that a person does not have to be the husband of one wife in order to be a Pastor ignores a very straightforward statement found in the context of 1 Tim. 3:2.

When Paul wrote to Timothy, he stated: “A bishop then must be…” (1 Timothy 3:2).
The phrase “must be” is a mandate that requires all those who aspire to become bishops to maintain the circumstances and characteristics that follow the phrase.

http://www.apologeticspress.org/apcontent.aspx?category=11&article=1643The Greek word translated here is dei, which means “it is necessary, one must, or has to” (Glasscock, 1983, 140:245).
It is simply a difference is assigned roles, not in status or worth. Thus, one must conclude that to establish elders/bishops/pastors as men, each of which is the “husband of one wife,” does not imply gender bias or unfairness. It simply denotes a circumstance that must avail in the life of a person who is eligible to be an elder.

I do not mean to be so disagreeing with you my brother, really I don't. I do not like to argue at all. You are a wonderful Christian and I have told you before that I admire your faith and stance in life.

But if you will just think for a moment you will I think understand that it has nothing to do with what we think or believe. Isn't all of our actions based on choices???? Has not God given to us the freedom of choice. When we base our choices on the Word of God then we can make proper and correct choices.

It has only to do with what God has said!!! We can then chose to accept it or we can choose to reject it. It really is just that simple.

Something I leaned a long time ago which has become popular lately is that, when all things are considered equally, the simple thing uselly winds up being the right thing. In other words....God said it and that's all there is to it!!!!

Maybe the statement of faith you refer to is actually a statement borne out of knowing the Spirit of God.

The Bible simply does not say that women are to be in positions of leadership and authority. It actually says the opposite.
It is not what the Bible says, but what you are manipulating it to say for you.

I don't have to manipulate what God clearly teaches about women. When I pray and ask the Spirit of God to lead me and teach me something, I owe it to Him to wait on Him and listen. I did that. I am confident in what Holy Spirit is saying about these matters. I refuse to veer off-course.

Isaiah 30:21-22
Your own ears will hear him.
Right behind you a voice will say,
“This is the way you should go,”
whether to the right or to the left.
22 Then you will destroy all your silver idols
and your precious gold images.
You will throw them out like filthy rags,
saying to them, “Good riddance!”

"Husband" is an example, by virtue of the male being dominant. We also refer to the male pronoun when we are speaking in general terms.

One spouse is not in dispute.

Yes, it is simply referring to the prerequisite that one must have one spouse, if married.

Major, did we not become "born again" after we heard the Gospel, and then be "believed" it? Believing is everything as long as you are believing according to the Word of God which he reveals to mans heart. This believing changes all our actions to match what we believe.

The Holy Spirit needs to be a bit more consistent.
Euphemia claims she discerns the truth straight from the Holy Spirit, and I know of hundreds who claim exactly the
same thing but hold the opposite opinion about the role of women.
You guys need to get together and develop some sort of consensus.

It's almost as bad as the New Agers, each one of them claims to be talking to the eternal spirits, but not two of them can agree on anything.

Yeah! Get it together, man! LOL!

We hear and then we believe, but I have no clue what this has to do with the words of Scripture that we have been discussing about leadership in the church.

Please do not lump me into her camp my friend. She is in a denominational belief system that is totally different than my understanding. I just read the Bible, post what it says and leave it to the individual.

Nope. No denomination. No camp. Just Jesus, brother...just Jesus, and the perfect word of God.

In what I have been saying, I have been under the impression that we are talking about Pastors. The Bible says that is a MAN desires the office of Bishop HE desires a good work. Pastor-Bishop-Overseer all speak of the same thing. Any one can testify and preach and teach anywhere they choose to do so however the OFFICE of the church is the one where the responsibility and leadership lies at the feet of the Pastor who according to the Bible is to ne a MAN. Please notice that I did not write those words which are found in the Bible. I just read them and believe them and never change them.

And Yes, there are many, many woman who have been placed into the position of Pastors in churches.

Oh you are right. Everyone has been talking about women pastors. I was just trying to pick your brain, to see if you thought there was a difference or not. I have always thought, and still think that the office of a pastor or shepherd of a flock should be a man, for the man is a head of the household. So i agree with you. I apologize for i was not trying to start any arguments with you.

And in the question i should have said i have not seen any women pastors in the Bible.

Blessings
