Was All Of Creation Tainted Somehow By The Fall Of Man?

Discussion in 'Bible Study' started by Theo Fane, Jul 12, 2012.

  1. If thorns and thistles didn't appear until after Adam & Eve were evicted from Eden, what else might have gotten a whole lot nastier all of a sudden?

  2. Yes, paradise became a nightmare once sin was introduced. Pain in childbirth, disease, death, aging, pain, and order was needed in human civilization. None of those features existed prior to the Fall. We are told in Rev. 22:3 that this curse will be lifted in the end and what a great a glorious day that shall be.

  3. Well, do we actually know that thorns and thistles did not appear till after the fall?
We are told that God planted a garden in Eden and put Adam there. We are not told specifically what grew outside of Eden.
All physical creation is subject to a curse because of the disobedience of Adam and Eve, however, I'm not convinced that the spiritual realm has suffered the same. Satan has certainly messed things up, but I gather the obedient angels and other spiritual entities are otherwise not affected.......but I could be mistaken.

  4. Yes, I agree. I don't think good angels were affected by the fall and remain confirmed in holiness. But the entire human race was certainly affected. Man was rendered dead in trespasses and sins (Eph. 2:1), blind in sin (2 Cor. 4:3-4) and deft in sin (Jn. 8:43, 47).

  5. BUT wasn't 1/3 of the angels affected and they were sact out of God's preasence?

  6. I agree and Personally I believe the entire universe was affected by sin.

What about the angels who did in fact fall???

Satan sinned against God and God cast him down from his high position. Isa. 14:12-14, Further describes Satan's sin. He is called "Lucifer" meaning the bright one, "the son of the morning". He was cut down to the ground because of his sin he said in his heart that he would be above God. He was determined to set up his own throne that men might worship him. Yet God said he would be brought down.
It is obvious that Satan first led a rebellion in heaven against God (Matthew 12:24, 2 Peter 2:4, Jude 6, Revelation 12:4) and then proceeded to tempt man also to disobey God.

    Just asking........

  7. I'm not understanding. What about the fallen angels? We are told that a third of angels followed their angelic leader, Satan, into his sin.

  8. Major, what I meant was that here on Earth and the rest of the physical/material/carnal universe, sin has affected (in an adverse way) the original perfection of God's creation. There is a spiritual creation/domain (universe) about which we ( me anyway) know very little. But as far as I know (very very little), although Satan and 1/3 of all angels rebelled the rest of the spiritual domain including the faithful angels remain unaffected by either Satan's or Adam's rebellion. For example, no death, no sickness, no alienation from God's presence etc.

  9. Jack........you said in comment #4 that..........
"Yes, I agree. I don't think good angels were affected by the fall and remain confirmed in holiness.

    My comment was simply that..............
"It is obvious that Satan first led a rebellion in heaven against God (Matthew 12:24, 2 Peter 2:4, Jude 6, Revelation 12:4) and then proceeded to tempt man also to disobey God.
Wouldn't that indicate that some of the angels were affected by the fall since all of creation was affected?

  10. For the record, none of those are in paradise. Paradise was closed and man sent packing. AND NOW paradise is buried under water, north of africa/middle east.
