1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.
1 Cor 6:11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
I undertand what your saying. It's not cut and dried as we like it to be though. Believers take long vacations from obeying God, then come back, sick, broke and in tears and God loves them and restores them.
We can't take people and say to those stuck in porn, and junk and tell them they were never saved because they continue to practice sin. John Said God's seed remains in them.
What is the time limit or staying in sin? A day, a week, 10 years?
At what point do we say they were never born of God?
1Jn 3:3-6 kjva 3 And every man that hath this hope in him
purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Rom 8:1 kjva There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Gal 5:16 kjva This I say then,
Walk in the Spirit, and
ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
2Ti 2:20-21 kjva 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
Gal 6:1 kjva Brethren,
if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Christians get off track, sometimes way off track. We are told to walk after the spirit, to abide and stayin Jesus, to purge ourselves, to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, to recieve with meekness the engrafted word which saves our souls (Changes mind and emotions)
We do these things. Without the Holy Spirit and help, we can't do these things.
Some don't do these things at all. There are Christains that have been saved for years and have no power in their life and still babies wanting milk.
This is why Paul said........... If your a drunk and so on, you will not partake of the will and rule of God. You miss out on the power of the Kingdom in your life.
We just can't take people who did accept Jesus and throw them into the saved unsaved catagory by acts of their flesh.
He keeps sinning, so God's seed must have never been in him......... Oh NO..........
We restore them back with meekness. They need help, captured by the devil to do his will.
Jim Baker lives down the street from me. Great guy, but He went through some bad times by his own devices. Cancer almost killed him in prison. He lost all those blessings, healing and power because he kept ignoring God about money... It cost him.
Does not mean he was never saved, just means he got dumb for awhile. Now God is blessing him again and helping him.
Hence Paul's warning about not being partakers, in God's will, rule and reign in our life.
