Keeping with the thread, Jesus told one of the criminals on the cross that they would be together in paradise. I don't believe said criminal knew anything about the trinity. There is no requirement to understand the trinity for salvation. As we grow in knowledge we learn about the holy trinity and continue to learn.
Hello Dave F.;
I came across your post and had to respond. I remember a Bible study years ago taught and a sister made a great point, the same one you just shared. "At that moment the criminal certainly had other things on his mind, but not the Trinity."
Jesus was specific that the only way to the Father is through Jesus.
Additionally, the power of the Spirit prompted the criminal as he was dying to say to the other criminal, Luke 23:40b, “Do you not fear God,
In Luke 23:42 And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
In Luke 23:43,43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
I truly believe your post was the working of the Trinity in the criminal.
Very well said, brother.
God bless you, Dave F., and your family.
