As even among we Baptists seems to be a big push now to get woked up and Critical race theology, are we now moving into redefining the Gospel message then?
That sounds like a squirrely church especially if there are a lot of side issues.
From my understanding, the doctrines of limited atonement (Particular Atonement) and total depravity would be a definite core concern, (not a side issue) between the two Baptist groups.I am a reformed baptist, and think that Baptist agree on core issues mentioned!
so does the others belong to a different denom . its when Christians feel they have the superior doctrine and yes i have met those .the Southern Baptist was the closest to what the Bible teaches IMHO.
to some degree you are correct free will verses reformed big difference on belief on how one is saved . still same Jesus who saves usFrom my understanding, the doctrines of limited atonement (Particular Atonement) and total depravity would be a definite core concern, (not a side issue) between the two Baptist groups.
Don't they cling as tight to the 1689 as the Scriptures in practice (maybe not in word)?
At least they won't share pulpits.
For them, it's two different Jesus's.to some degree you are correct free will verses reformed big difference on belief on how one is saved . still same Jesus who saves us
i posted many times in carm forum with is Calvinist forum .never seen it presented like that i will say trying study reformed will leave you cross eyed . most of them will not say babies go to heaven . also faith must be given to you first. been a long time since i was there.. at one time i had a email exchange with a man who was Calvinist. it got rather intense but never out of hand . no name callingFor them, it's two different Jesus's.
One Jesus is actively involved in choosing who goes to heaven and who gets passed over.
The other Jesus is offering Himself to man's free will.
Or Blm under another Guise!Actually brother.....the Critical Race nonsense is nothing more than "Marxism" called by a more acceptable name.
AMEN!
I am a Calvinist, who uses the 1689 Confession, but again, the core distinctives of baptists are the views we all agree on, inspiration of Bible, only infallible source, loacal church autonomy, believers baptism, separation of church and state etc! From my understanding, the doctrines of limited atonement (Particular Atonement) and total depravity would be a definite core concern, (not a side issue) between the two Baptist groups.

we agree that the death of the Lord Jesus was atonement for our sins, just differ on the intended extent of who is to get saved, and if all given faith or just the elect!to some degree you are correct free will verses reformed big difference on belief on how one is saved . still same Jesus who saves us
I am a calvinist, and say some differences even among "free will" Baptists, as some still see us as fallen in the fall of Adam, while others seem to see full free will remaining! For them, it's two different Jesus's.
One Jesus is actively involved in choosing who goes to heaven and who gets passed over.
The other Jesus is offering Himself to man's free will.
I am reformed. and agree with Spurgeon that no babies are in hell!i posted many times in carm forum with is Calvinist forum .never seen it presented like that i will say trying study reformed will leave you cross eyed . most of them will not say babies go to heaven . also faith must be given to you first. been a long time since i was there.. at one time i had a email exchange with a man who was Calvinist. it got rather intense but never out of hand . no name calling
In that case would your Church share pulpits with a Free Will Baptist Church?I am a Calvinist, who uses the 1689 Confession, but again, the core distinctives of baptists are the views we all agree on, inspiration of Bible, only infallible source, loacal church autonomy, believers baptism, separation of church and state etc!

Agreed. The words, "The Bible says".........has been replaced with.........."I feel like....."!
or : "the original greek says".....and there is no original greek text, , and the person saying this can't even read Koine Greek.
Its an odd thing that on forums, you have bible correctors, and in Pulpits, you have bible correctors, who can't read Koine Greek, correcting bibles with the "original greek" that does not exist....... while trying to pretend they are a Greek text Authority.
This is not honest, and its certainly not Scriptural.
From "wiki"....so, add that grain of salt.• Baptists allow women to be ordained as Pastors.
• Southern Baptists only allow men to be ordained.
the sin nature is there but Children are innocent especially Babies are are so innocent , i helped do a infant funeral the crowd was a wild rough bunch. i told them the little Boy was in better a place and far more innocent than any of us in the room its been a long time since i was in carm some of them are down right rude. they call a person a false teacher etc.. we may disagree on certain issues.. but i am not resorting to name calling. Many well meaning and spiritual people have taught that sin is “passed” from one generation to the next.
