I heard a number of explanations about what blasphemy is such as" it is insulting the holy spirit, acting like you're better than god, not believing, etc." Also it seems odd that god cannot forgive this. Do you have any answers?

You have to understand that a human can't blaspheme the Holy Spirit properly / at an extremity that equals actual / valid blasphemy referred to in scripture. Hate builds up. Rebellion builds up.
The fallen angels were in the spiritual realm when they rebelled. Their decision was crystal clear. Our's reaches clarity when we die and go to Hell. So we can conclude, if anyone is alive, they have not blasphemed the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes you need to read what is not written / use lateral thought.
Did Lucy get a second chance? Did he rebel for a year? Did Hitler live for a day after he started experimenting on children? The devil is roaming around like a roaring lion looking for whom he can devour...who can he devour?
If blasphemy is an unpardonable sin, why would God keep that person living / protected from being devoured? Does the devil like some of us? Does the devil need some of us? Does God need the evil people to serve a purpose? Was God behind / to blame for the death of all the Jews in WW2?

If you're referring to the unpardonable sin, it's rejecting the work of the Holy Spirit which is to convict us of sin so we can turn to God and be saved. There's only one sin that ensures we go to hell, disbelief. To blaspheme (slander) is to say the Holy Spirit isn't telling the truth, hence the reason isn't no pardonable. Until you're past that last breath in your chest, there's hopeI heard a number of explanations about what blasphemy is such as" it is insulting the holy spirit, acting like you're better than god, not believing, etc." Also it seems odd that god cannot forgive this. Did you read what I wrote? To reject the work of the Holy Spirit is to say "You're wrong and I'm right" and cannot be forgiven past death. Until then, it can be. We all rejected God until the moment we accepted Him and His way.I don't know if you got my message before but how is slandering god unforgivable? I recall somewhere that job slandered god and was forgiven. I'm sure we've all been angry at god every now and then and have said some negative things. So why can't god forgive that.

One of SevenTherefore I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
I think this answers the question, but now this makes me wonder what exactly is the holy spirit?
One of Seven
Revelation 5:6 (KJV)I don't get it
Revelation 5:6 (KJV)
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
Who are They?
Isaiah 11:2 (KJV)
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Seven Spirits that go throughout all the earth looking for those willing to learn from them!
The Holy SpiritSo which spirit is it unforgivable to blaspheme?
A better question would be who is The Holy Spirit? It's not a good idea to refer to Him as it or what.Therefore I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
