MEMORIAL DAY

Sunday.....My wife and I visited the graves of our fathers. My father was an Army infantry man wounded in Germany at the end of WW2. He spent the rest of his life as a 100% totally disabled veteran. My wife's father was a Navy seaman on a destroyer escort in the Pacific in WW2. One of my nephew's graves is in the same cemetery and he was killed in Italy in WW2. I have another nephew buried there and he died in service in Korea.

I would hope that all of you would join us this Memorial Day as we remember and honor our heroes. We don’t know them all, but we owe them all.
We are forever grateful for the ultimate sacrifice of those who died for our country. May their courage and dedication never be forgotten. Let’s remember our fallen service members with pride this Memorial Day.

Remember that Our flag doesn’t fly because the wind moves it, but because of the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it. Take a moment this Memorial Day to honor those who served our nation and are no longer with us.

Now, since you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in English, thank a soldier. Join us in praise of the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in the name of the United States of America.

Each Memorial Day, we honor those who died for the United States. by placing a flag at their grave and say a prayer of thanks! May their sacrifice be a constant reminder of things that matter.
Memorial Day quote

44,090 Canadians died in WW2!
Yes but ours is in Nov. Remembrance Day.

Canada and the United States are close allies.

Memorial Day - last Monday in May (respectfully the United States) and Remembrance Day - November 11th (respectfully Canada) are to remember ALL the brave men and women lost during WW2.

My Dad was a Major in the US Air Force. He taught navigation training but was also deployed to Viet Nam twice in 1968 and 1972. He flew the
F-4 Phantom.

Today we have family in British Columbia and Ontario. It is considered their home country. We had a friendly rivalry when the Canadian National Women's Soccer team beat the US Women's team and won the Olympics in 2021.

I digress. Thank you, Major, for posting this reminder of Memorial Day.
