Keys to the kingdom

  1. Hello and Blessings to Every one,
I thought it would be pretty cool to see how others view this so I have a few questions and would like it very much if you would reply with your thoughts.
Thank You and have thee most Blessed 2015

1...What are the keys to the Kingdom ?
2...What are they meant for OR what do you do with them ?
3...If you believe they truly unlock something

  2. My thoughts...
Jesus said he was the door.
The keys are like the password.
The door is to heaven and the mansion he has prepared for us inside.
The keys unlock all the treasures God has set aside for us, our inheritance.
We each have our personal key that only works for us. I think we have more than one to enter the gate, and another to enter our mansion. The gate one seems to be the secret password, which is written in the Bible..and the door one to the mansion is like the secret one only Jesus gives us written on a small white stone, it is our new name in heaven.

    Thats what I think anyway.
  3. Well, key(s) refer to "authority". Only those who have authority have keys. Since there are more than one key, I would say the grand daddy of all keys would be "faith". We are saved by "grace" through "faith", but to get grace by which we are saved requires faith as its key.

Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Rom 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Eph 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
Eph 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

All the promises of God are given to us by grace, which only faith can "access"

Jesus speaking to the 120 tells them to wait until they are endued with "power" from on high. The word "power" refers to "authority" which is a key to having dominion over all the works of the evil one. Hense, whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven, and what ever we loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.
  4. Thank You both for your replies and I will give it one more day then reply with where I was going with this.

    Have a blessed day
  5. mm thought bit more about this.
Yes CCW95A is right the key is to how to unlock..well that's in the Bible too. Who to have faith in? Jesus is the door.

I suppose the binding and loosing thing I'm not too sure about as heard ppl say different things, but if its related to the keys then we can unlock the door and invite others in I suppose, and also lock it to keep others out. But people can have their own keys when they ask Him.

We give keys to people when we think we can trust them I suppose - or they are family. They belong to the house of God.
  6. I suppose if we not careful we can lose or misplace our keys.
But I think as the keys are more like a password, others can't really steal them from us.
But the keys are not ordinary keys because Heaven has security angels I suppose and would know if someone had stolen the key or used someone elses.
We have to look after our keys and remember our passwords. Keep them in a safe place. I think our heart is a safe place. Whatever the case its best to have our keys on us at all times.
  7. In this post I want to GET something through to many of you who believe that just because a person becomes born again and the scriptures say that all the promises of God are ours that they automatically go into force or action and you are covered and life is good. This is simply NOT TRUE. Everything about God in our lives BEGINS WITH A CHOICE. We have to decide to chose His way and become born again. Everything beyond this point found in the Written Word Of God, first starts with a choice and follows up with an action by us and then by GOD.

When a person believes in Christ and is Born again, they find a new life and safety AND God has given unto every believer Everything they will ever need to live out this Christian life in a victorious and overcoming way. HOWEVER it is the BELIEVERS CHOICE OR RESPONSIBILITY to use the Resources God Provides. Another words we must find the Keys to the Kingdom which are always going to be the promises of God and learn how to use them or unlock the promises of God so as to have them fulfil their purpose by working for you, me or who ever puts them to work.

    2Peter1:3 KJV
According to His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and Godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to Glory and Virtue

    2Peter1:3 NLT
As we know Jesus better, His divine power gives us everything we need for living a Godly life. He has called us to receive His own Glory and Goodness!

    2Peter1:4 KJV
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises; that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

    2Peter1:4 NLT
And by that same mighty power , He has given us all of His rich and wonderful promises. He has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in His divine nature.

Now then these next few scriptures also show us what we have been blessed with through Christ as well. I want to show you something that set me free and changed the way I pray. For many years people use the next scripture as the main promise of God to get their needs met or what ever it is they are facing. Within this type of prayer one finds them selves struggling to see this through. Another words it's a struggle to try and get your needs met praying that my God shall meet all of my needs through His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.

Why do I say this ? Because when you are praying along these lines you find your self wondering if God wants me to have this or wants me to get this. You end up trying to convince God of your needs. This is always a struggle and prayers are to be done By Faith. Faith does not wonder or question but simply BELIEVES because it KNOWS.

    Philippians 4:19 KJV
But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.

    Philippians 4:19 NLT
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Now with the scripture above Philippians 4:19 we see that it says that God will meet all of your need with His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. What do we need or what is our need here? We need His power to over come. We need to live in victory as He has given us the victory already through Christ but we Must Fight The Good Fight Of Faith in order to step over into our Victory. What I am saying is this, God has already given us EVERYTHING we will ever need to fulfil His plan for our life which includes living in victory. SO USE WHAT HE HAS GIVEN US ALREADY AND OVER COME AND TAKE YOUR VICTORY through His Every Promise within in His written word.

Now think about this, you need better health, take your key that unlocks healing and put it into force. God is not going to do this for you. He has already provided your healing and it is up to us to CHOSE to use our key to healing and health.
Oh but my rent is over do and I need 800 dollars by 6 tomorrow or I am on the streets.
No you don't need 800 but you do need to wake up and find out who you are in Christ and what those keys are that He gave you when you were grafted into His family and learn how to use them and USE them. Then you wont find your self stuck praying out of desperate need in a struggle trying to convince God how bad you need this.

God is always Faithful and True to His word. He is always watching for His word to be put into action. His answer to prayer is always yea and amen or watch this...when you pray according to His will. What is His will ? His every promise in His written word for you. Those keys you tossed aside and forgot about. Check it out....
KJV .. For ALL the PROMISES of God in HIM are YEA and in Him Amen, unto the Glory of God by us.
How do I know if it is God's will for me ? Do you have a situation which requires God to fix or see to it that it gets taken care of ? Well does God have a promise in His word that will cover it ? YES God has a promise that will cover EVERYTHING we go through in His written word. So then it is HIS WILL for YOU !! Now Look at the next scripture.

    Ephesians 1:3 KJV
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath Blessed us with ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS in Heavenly Places in Christ

    Ephesians 1:3 NLT
How we Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING in the heavenly realms because we belong to Christ.

What are these Spiritual Blessings ? They are His Every Promise To Us found in His written word. So lets recap this real quick.
Must chose to become Born again and grafted unto His tree. Must chose to renew my mind unto His ways. Must chose to Believe what His written word says. Must chose to act on His written word or promises. Must make the choice to find out who I am in Christ Jesus and what Power and Authority has been Given unto me. Must make the choice to take these keys and unlock His promises and use them or put them to work for us.

Ok one last Point I want to make....Even with all this there is still choices that must be made in order to see this all work for OUR GOOD. WE MUST CHOSE to believe His word is all true and NOT waver or sway with doubts or unbelief and this is done through Faith. Now then Faith must be followed up with Love and Forgiveness. All three here work together and are needed to operate Faith. Now then standing in Faith means you are not moved by what you see or feel. It does not matter for what does the word of God say....That is all that matters. Chose to place Gods word First and Last in every situation.

This is another study or topic but is REQUIRED HERE AS WELL. Words or what you allow to come out of your mouth. These dictate or control your results. When you are standing on Gods word then YOU must ...ohhhh here it is again....Make a CHOICE to speak Gods words TOO. Now again your mind and heart must be renewed unto His written word to grasp this. But any and all doubt words or fear words or unbelief words will hinder your prayers and hinder YOUR FAITH from bringing forth the RESULTS that you need. However here is a tip....if you catch your self then simply rebuke those words and SPEAK GODS WORD OVER IT and change the way you have been thinking.

I can prove this with scripture or show you but this seems long now. So I will show this in another thread......

I think you've summed it all up for us, and no one needs to add a single, blessed thing! Good on ya!

    Praise you, Lord Jesus!

  9. Well, when we pray we do use Gods word which is Jesus, as he is like the password.
So everything we do or say in Jesus name goes direct to our Father. is that right? And if we use scripture, all the better. Just trust Him cos the word is living and active. It cuts both ways like that double edged sword - dividing the bad from the good.
  10. Brother Fish, it seems you and I are on the same wave length. I am amazed at the Church not knowing the things the Lord has already given to us from the beginning, and all that is required is for us to find what these things are and then believe them. They are disclosed in scripture what we have. As Jesus said, "your father already knows the things you have need of before you ask him" Wait a minute, how can God know what I have need of? Because he has already given them to us, and is he the one telling us what to ask for! There is no doubt "faith" abounds when you know for sure what the Lord has already given you, and knowing he wants you to have it is a guarantee you have it.

  11. Brother CCW that is because it is His wave length.
I am amazed at how people will live in poverty expressing it must be Gods will and then put down the truth found in His very written word. Being humble does not mean being in lack.
This is why so many Christians live a defeated life and have no idea why and then play it off as it must be Gods will for me. No man it's the devil and he is trying to keep you in defeat.
    Know what I mean ? ;)

  13. Yes, and I wanted to add what I heard Brother Copeland mention once about how in Colossians we are told we have been (past tense) translated out of the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of God's dear Son. And he likened it to how someone from China could become a citizen of the USA but still live under the same junky bondage of China's system and never enjoy the liberty (which actually when used by our founding fathers is a reference to being saved in Christ! That's why they put it on our coinage) of the USA system ( built on God's Word). If they start spending some time learning about what rights and priveleges they have as US citizens they will become totally free from the bondage of China. Meditate on the reality of that as it relates to us in God's Kingdom vs life under the curse and things start look different.

  14. Because in His Kingdom, as Brother Jim pointed out, we have the promises and His name, and His anointing, and HIS armor, AND His weapons, and His wisdom, etc

  15. I know what you mean jelly bean! :) I think one of the problems is most of the Church believes that the "faith" they used to get saved, would be the same "faith" used for God's provisions, which is not true. Every promise of God carry's it's own grace, and faith to bring to pass what that promise gives. Faith is very "specific" to the promise from where it comes. Like the man who came to Jesus for deliverance for his son. He had faith in believing Jesus as the messiah, but had no faith in believing for his sons deliverance.

Mar 9:20 And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.
Mar 9:21 And Jesus asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?" And he said, "From childhood.
Mar 9:22 And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us."
Mar 9:23 And Jesus said to him, "'If you can'! All things are possible for one who believes."
Mar 9:24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, "I believe; help my unbelief!"

Here we see faith, and unbelief all at the same time. Even though there is only one faith, but there are multiple instances of that one faith. The same with "baptism" there is only one baptism, but there are multiple instances of that one baptism. We have baptism in water, baptism by one Spirit into one body, and baptism in the Holy Ghost. Many baptisms but only one baptism. We have Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, but only one God.
We need to find the scriptures that promises what we already have, than ask to receive them. It's fun!!

  16. Well said, I was listening to a bunch of good teaching about Mark 9 the last few days, and the difference between unfeigned faith and feigned faith and unfeigned love and feigned love, very good. One of the best things I was ever taught is how faith is not stackable - it comes by hearING (instead of having heard) which is present tense infinitive, so we have to keep hearing God's Word to have faith continually coming.

  17. Hello Lanolin,
WE HAVE HIM !! Everything about Himis ours. We have His spirit in us.

  18. Cool Beans Brother,
That is put very well and I will have to add to it though!
Faith is NOT something we are to pull out and dust it off when we find we need it. NO, NO No way man it is A LIFE STYLE. You know perhaps that is why we find "THE JUST WEILL LIVE BY FAITH" !! You CAN NOT Please God with out or out side of FAITH.. I wonder what many think this means ?

  19. I had the Lord tell this to me a few years ago when I was meditating on the subject of faith. He said, "Faith does not grow in quality, but in quantity"
Jesus's disciples ask him to increase their faith. They thought their faith needed to be made stronger, but Jesus said "if you had faith as a grain of mustard seed you might...." What he was telling them is it makes no difference the size of your faith, it is weather you faith or not. If you have faith in any subject, it is already at its strongest. I had a lady tell me her faith is stronger now than it was when she first got saved. I asked her, now that your faith is stronger, are you now more saved than you were before? She said no. Her faith had grown, but not in strength but in other areas of her life.

  20. As long as what we are saying in Jesus name lines up with His word. Using scripture is what He desires of us. It is not that He forgets or just wants to test us and see how much we know.
Using His word brings results. Yes Mam keep on Trusting in Him AND keep your words and actions in Faith.Don't allow doubt and fear and unbelief enter in or it will choke out His word and hinder your results
    Have a blessed day
