The word 'progressive' is the new word representing Communism. It is the doctrines of Communism that political 'progressives' align with.

Here is one of the strategic goals that Communism created in 1958 to apply against the United States and its allies. It is from ex-FBI agent Cleon Skousen's book The Naked Communist, where he outline 45 strategic Communist goals against the West.

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”

In case you don't understand that goal, it means to replace what God reveals in His Own Word with Socialist idealism instead. Some call it 'secularism'. Many Leftist-liberals today call the idea 'progressive'.

Progressive and Communism has always put a bitter taste in my heart since I was a boy. Dad was career Air Force and while we were stationed at the old Mather Air Force Base near Sacramento, I remember my Mom put a box of food and necessities at the back door during the missile crisis of the early 60s.

The history of Joseph Smith and the Mormon church remind me of the two young men with white shirts, black ties and their hair parted neatly over the side. In 1984 I was in the Philippines on a short term mission and while riding on a public jeepney they started speaking to me about their faith. I pointed my responses to Jesus and the book of John. They shut down and wished me a nice day. I learned that they are trained to back off once the discussion (reject Christianity) of the Truth doesn't align with their doctrine.
I did bid them blessings as they got off the jeepney.

Did you read that Goal 27 of the Soviet 1958 long-range strategy against the Churches? A political attack can be a theological one per their strategy, so we cannot just try to make separate categories with that.

I'm not a Mormon, nor a Catholic, but do they not also follow many things in The Bible? So why should Skousen being a Mormon affect his duty as an FBI agent? Mormon's that I have known in the U.S. military have been loyal citizens of the United States of America. Skousen was even in the interrogation of Whitaker Chambers who worked for the U.S. State Dept. but undercover was discovered to be a Soviet spy. You might check out Skousen's book The Naked Communist written in 1958 and find out the U.S. programs he was involved in, and more of those 45 Soviet Goals against the West, and notice how many of them have been fulfilled, and some of them are still at work today.

I've been to Mather, AFB. I was a crew chief on B-52Ds in Guam, and Mather was one of the bases I flew back overseas from. I served during the Vietnam war.

This younger generation is mostly not aware of the threat of Communism-Socialism. They don't really know what it is. In my era in the USAF, we had specific training about Communism, because of being overseas and exposed to a greater degree to Communist agents. Then my job continued in aviation after I got out of the Air Force, still working for them as a contractor, and to this day they still train anyone using their computer systems about the threats of Communist agents. One would be surprised how many U.S. citizens have been caught just in modern times spying for the Communists.

Oh, I'm well familiar with them. They came by once when I was young, and my mother, bless her heart, bought their Book of Mormon out of kindness, then put it on a shelf upstairs. Mom didn't know that I would sneak up there to read in my spare time. So when I was in my early teens, I read the Book of Mormon, the Bagdavita (that she also got from Hari Krishnas that knocked on our door), and The Bible.

I have always believed on God and His Son, having been raised in a mainstream Protestant Church. But I didn't get baptized until 40. So I studied religion and philosophy in my younger years.

Thank you for sharing and I can relate to what I blue-lighted. I feel there is a reason we come across books and information that can easily be put aside, but end up reading and learning.

Years ago my younger brother had a copy of the Quran translated by Maulana Wahiduddin Khan. I told him I wanted to borrow it and he forgot he had it by his desk. I read through it and still have stickies on pages that stuck out with me like the treatment of women, family, judgemental rebuke of Jews and Christians and other's faith that is considered corruption.

I haven't mastered the study of the Quran but it did enlighten me in learning more about their faith.

This taught me that peoples of other faith can be very loyal to their belief just as I am in my faith in Christ. I love and pray for all people daily and have witnessed the conversion of others to Christianity.

No one thrives except those who sin. and when I saw Venezuela went I couldn’t believe my own eyes.

Equality is really just a farce. Even the animal kingdom has a pecking order.

If you wanna thrive in the world you gotta work your way up.

Fails the test of Apostle john, as all who deny Jesus is the Christ, the Lord is from spirit of antichrist!

God did say He would make the children of Ishmael a 'wild people' and his hand would be against every man (Genesis 16:12).

The majority of them will be taught in Christ's future Millennial reign at His return. That's going to be one of the jobs of Christ's faithful Church that reign with that "rod of iron" with Him.

Yeah, but a lot of people look to just follow something, as they often don't care to verify movements they get attached to. Soft words that sound good has been Satan's M.O. since the Garden of Eden.

George Orwell actually was trying to warn the western nations about Communism when he wrote 1984.

Biblically, the Russian Communist system represents Esau, who was also called Edom which means 'red'. That is who the Islamic nations are allied with against Israel per Ezekiel 38 (Libya, Persia, which represents Iraq, Iran, and likely Syria, and then Gomer which represents some of the old Soviet satellite countries, like Georgia, and then old Ethiopia, which used to include Sudan, and Sudan is like Libya allied with Russia. And then the last one is old Togarmah, which was the area of old Cappadocia, what is now called Turkey.)

Turkey is a NATO ally, but still majority Muslim. In the past decade Russia has been trying to get Islamic radicals to create a radical Muslim state controlled government there, and end their NATO alliance. So Turkey is a major place to be watching today. God's Word shows they will eventually join alliance with Russia, and thus complete the Ezekiel 38 alignment of nations against Israel.
