Did I Get Saved Yet?

  1. I just learned that it's not so scary to be saved after all, so yesterday a person sent me a link where it says that how do I get saved, and then there was this prayer where it said that that prayer will save, and I decided to give everything to Jesus... Few minutes after praying, I got the ability of controlling my lust and some other things, but I need to remember that what were the other things that happened to me then...

What are the signs of a person being saved for the first time of the life?

And what does the Holy Spirit or your spirit tell you about me? Am I saved?

I will get baptized too, but to get baptized, can it be any place where there is water, or does it have to be a lake only?

  2. I just like to say how great for you that you've given yourself to Jesus. It is a new beginning of a wonderful journey for you in Christ Jesus. I got baptized in a swimming/paddling pool at the church i attend!

  3. Okay, so it doesn't have to be a lake or swamp only?

And really? Did I get saved?
  4. Praise The Lord! You have no idea how I have been praying for you. I will be rejoicing with all the angels in heaven.

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. (Galatians 5:22-24 NLT)

You can be baptized anywhere there is water. I was baptized in a church. Most evangelical churches have a baptism pool. I've seen people baptized in creeks, lakes, rivers, and in the ocean.

  5. Glad to hear you are seeking Christ.
  6. Okay. I see. But why do some Christians say that you can get baptized only in the lake?
  7. Never heard that.
  8. It's very possible if you've really given your life to Jesus. Like i said , everything is new to you now, you are a baby in Christ. We have to hold on to our salvation now and not let it go for anything. When you get baptised is when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. You need to repent and change from your old life and the old ways of doing things.
  9. Did Jesus get baptized in a lake or a river? I can't remember.
  10. Polly, praise God that you have decided to give yourself to Him! I along with many others have been praying for you and our prayers seem to have been answered, praise the Lord! You can get baptized anywhere there is water, it doesn't have to be anywhere special.
  11. The river Jordan was it not? I don't remember either :( I'm listening to the Book of Numbers right now and I think all of the 'numbers' are scrambling my brain.
  12. What lake am I suppose to get baptized in?
  13. Ketchup, since that's your go to condiment you use for your McD's fries.
  14. I ask for special sauce. MmmmMmmm
  15. Polly, you are going to go the missionary church and talk to them about baptism right? They will help you. Do you like it there. It doesn't have to be a lake. Do they have a place for baptism in their church?
  16. Polly I just want you to know that I love you so much and I am so glad you are doing this and are going to be with us in heaven.
  17. It's a calvary chapel, if that's what you mean... They said they do have a pool where I can get baptized...
  18. I really hope you get to know the people. They sound like they are very loving. You see that God loves you so much that you felt in your heart like attending the same missionaries I contacted and you didn't even know it was them. This is a sign from God that He loves you and wants you with Him and that this is the place for you to learn.

  20. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9. Salvation is that simple - nothing more or less to it. :)
