Hello again,
@Big Moose,
Reading through Hosea, and referencing Ezekiel, on this Sunday morning, with the sun shining through the rain spattered window of the room, I find another proverb, and remembering your thread, enter it here for you to see.
May you be blessed in your reading today, in your time frame, in your homeland, whatever the weather, whatever the circumstance, as your mind is stayed on God your Father, through Christ Jesus your Lord, by His Spirit.
The Proverb: 'like Mother like daughter'. See Ezekiel 16:44.
'Behold, every one that useth proverbs
shall use this proverb against thee, saying,
"As is the mother, so is her daughter.'
Thou art thy mother's daughter, ... '
This is spoken of the land and people of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, they forgot the God of their Fathers and His providential care, and instead attributed unto gods of wood and stone the blessings of basket and store which they enjoyed, thereby being like an adulterous wife.
As usual, as I read, the Holy Spirit uses His Word to shine light upon my own life, my actions and motivations, and makes me cling closer to the God of my salvation.
Praise His Holy Name!
With love, in Christ Jesus
from here, in the UK,
Chris
