You are the one who brought up revival in post #140, maybe you can give us your answer?first off what is revival and the ingredients of?
Yes, that is correct. There are two sides, definitely, but there is also another angle of a church body, the minister or pastoral staff that may have an agenda and instead of two sides keep it one sided.
I'm sure the longer we serve the more we have seen both.
its not about who has a dog in a fight or not. its something that took place many years ago . what it is not.. that is how the Body of Christ operates . communities use to hold revivals to day we dont have revivals that we the body supports .
A lot of churches still gather in rented venues.
Revivals used to be held in tents that were just erected over empty fields.
I think it can be done anywhere but obviously buildings dedicated for worship seem especially appropriate. People just want to be comfortable and sheltered, and I guess you can't blame them for needing that...problems arise when it starts costing too much and excluding everyone else who really only want to gather in order to worship.
Do you think that that could be the result of a breakdown in communication between the two or a desire to not compromise on some issues?
Hi Major;
Yes, I feel many pastors, especially young ones take on so, so much that they're not communicating, "I need help!" and instead take on everything themselves, eventually leading to a breakdown in communication.
I feel the desire of a pastor or leadership not willing to compromise on some issues is a result of an embedded growing (self doctrine) sometimes they're not aware of, than can have a negative impact on the church body.

the young man had NO help the leadership wanted sweep it under the rug. what would you do a sunday school teacher tells his class. he still watches porn . when you openly admit something of that nature . what is suppose to be done? reward him. ? it cost the church dearlyWhat I have obsrved is what you just said.
I think maybe the young Pastors feel like if they admitt that they need help, it is a sign of weakness which some will translate into .....Not able!
no buts to it. over the years i have seen many church splits. that does not impress me. if anything it bothers me as its not what the Bible teachesBUT..........you only told us a few days ago so it must have left an impression on you.
pssst its a discussion not a trialSince I asked first, I’ll wait on your reply to my question in 141 before answering yours.
