To Jeff: I Thought This Was A ''friendly'' Christian Forum...?

I find it so strange that there seems to be so little value given to unity anymore. We take for granted various denominational teachings, but I'm not convinced that was ever the best idea. We're just too independent. The split from the Catholic Church was not an easy one, but at the time it was made due to corruption in some fairly specific practices. While I will admit that there a definitely some practices and teachings in the Catholic Church that make me very uncomfortable, I have a hard time calling it idolatry (though there are some offshoots that I've seen go a bit overboard on this).

What I do feel is that while I"m not sure that's a moderatable comment, it is absolutely not in the Spirit of a "friendly Christian community", nor is it in the spirit of this particular thread, so I must ask this line of discussion to end. So, as a moderator, I must remind everyone that for the purposes of this site, Catholics are absolutely accepted. I will not enforce only doctrines which I agree with, and you should all be very grateful for that. Mocking the doctrines of other denominations is not acceptable. You may discuss doctrines, but not tear them down.

lol .. that is my ministry (which our mod Ban does not understand) to those who already believe .. I struggled with his comment to to me and the HE told me told me to let it ride because He would correct him ..

It's not lack of understanding. Please understand I have a fairly specific purpose on this site, and that is not to enforce any particular doctrines but to, for lack of a better phrasing, to enforce friendliness and unity. In the past, it has required me to moderate comments that I've actually agreed with, ban users whom I believed had a correct belief but were not respectful and were not submissive to correction, and most often permit discussion with which I completely and totally disagree. When possible, I try not to moderate a single user but to look back where the discussion became sidetracked and "reset" it to the original purpose of the topic. I'm not interested in hurting anyone, so I tend to forget quickly those who were involved. The purpose of this topic was to discuss how unfriendly the site had become. Every time I leave for a few months, these topics pop up a lot, so I take them a bit personally. After the first page, it turned into a debate between a few members. That is not the purpose of this topic, and so this topic was moderated.

interesting .. I'm random and never stay on topic ..
I like to allow a convo to go where it may ..
that is the way the HS works .. you don't know from where it comes or goes .. you just flow with it
interesting enough, it was the pnumea (wind) that cleared the earth of the flood as well ..

if it pleases you .. I will recuse myself ..

No need to recluse, and I have no problem with a bit of randomness. I just feel that if the topic is talking about friendliness, it should remain friendly and not resort to arguing.

I will work for God no matter where he sends me ..
my heart is convicted to those who believe that they may be "complete" ..
I do not argue ..

stubbornness of heart .. is between man and God ..
and what may look like arguing to you .. is an attempt to open eyes and heart ..
the ego level in this forum is much greater then most would like to admit ..
and ego is what we all should be trying to suppress .. because it is the devils greatest leverage in our lives ..

Beloved, one of the ways to "cure" delusions of grandeur is to put two persons with the same delusion in the same room. For example: two "napoleons". One will eventually lose the napoleonic identity, and the other will remain with the delusion.
At any rate, at least one will be "healed".

 So you see...I'm healed!

perhaps the source, not what the "image of" is what needs to be looked at ..
unlike a mirror .. our image needs to be conformed, and is not a correct imagery ..

Let's get serious now. When was the last time you looked in the mirror? Be honest: do you think you could ever get
angry with that person?

There once was an attempt to put a dozen people who believed they were god in a room together. I don't remember the results. I doubt the conversation would be as funny as one might imagine it.
