Stepping Stone Pointers For New Christians
For those who are new Christians is the most important decision you will make in your life. So it is reasonable to ask the great question, "How do I get started?"
1. Each morning when you wake up, renew your decision to trust God's unconditional love for you and respond with your love to Him above all, first. God sees our hearts and will honor our boldness and confidence knowing without a doubt that He loves you.
2. In your morning prayer time proclaim to God your faith in Jesus Christ. God honors those who honor His Only Begotten Son with His promise in John 3:16;
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. - ESV
3. Ask God to guide you in understanding your New Faith. Nobody will master their faith in their lifetime, so it's important to continually seek growth daily. God promises to be there to mature us slowly but surely.
4. When we pray, we are speaking to God. When we read the Bible, God is speaking to us. Pray continuously throughout the day especially in the morning and evening before going to sleep.
5. Develop a commitment to read the Bible daily. Some new readers feel comfortable picking a Scripture verse or passage. Others will follow a chronological order beginning with Genesis and ending with Revelation. We recommend reading chronologically from beginning to end.
6. When our members log on to Christian Forum Site, please pray first. Review the forum topics and latest posts. "Listen" to what you're reading and as you feel led to reply, post. Many experience that what they post may encourage another member or reader who is also seeking God and answers in their life.
