Asking for a friend

When you’re stood on the mountain top
In the presence of God
Looking down into the valley, you spot
A fellow traveller stuck in the mud
Struggling through the ‘slough of despondency’
Getting no where fast,

Do you:-

Grab block and tackle
Scrabble down the hill fast,
Dive into the miry clay and pull them out?

Or,

As with Moses on top of the hill,
Get down on your knees,
With hands raised up
Battle in the heavenlies
for the war raging
in the valley below?

When the battles raging
But the victory is the Lords!
Do we stand on the sidelines praying
Or get stuck in and pull them out?

I don’t know the answer
Just asking for a friend…

Hello Alan;

The Christian who strives daily to grow is given by the Lord - the maturity, wisdom, strength and the 9 fruit of the Holy Spirit becomes Seasoned.

We know without a doubt that Jesus has already won. So we are already equipped to tend to the traveler stuck in the mud or getting down on our knees is a weapon used in the battle.

My battle is in my own backyard if you read my thread, Ministering Loss of Respect for Human Life

The block we struggle with is the fear of getting hurt, dying or failing. But the Christian who strives daily to walk with Jesus has already died unto Christ. So whatever the outcome is, Christ is still our guide, He Wins but will not forget us for our faith in the battle.

God bless you, Alan, and thank you for sharing Asking for a friend

Bob
