We all know the Church is not perfect , and we need to accept that fact.

    Just a quick question
What does the Church lack ??? in a general sense..

  2. Genuine Love and humility.

  3. Teaching. Bible exposition, truth. Reasons WHY disobedience results in pain, not just admonition and reproof given by people who haven't really thought it through at all.

Music. Lyrics. Not 4 chord cadence and some vapid, devoid-of-meaning, insert-deity-of-your-choice heathen repetition. Not 12 people on a platform with 6 of the mikes dead and three others which should be.

Testimony. Stop saying "Lord, we just want to praise You" - and instead, DO IT.

  5. Fix the drive for money and I think many other problems will iron themselves out.

  6. I'm not sure if you are referring to any particular church (or denomination),
but, "What does the church lack?"
Nothing. The Church is whole and complete, ordained by God Himself.

What may be lacking inside the church?
Clergy who are sincere and dedicated to serve.
Clergy who don't practice heresy and sin themselves.
Laity that actually have a desire to know the real God.
Laity who are not there every Sunday just for show.

  7. What do scriptures say?
I encourage everyone to become so word minded that when you see and hear things, the Holy Spirit brings up scripture after scripture, for it is Written He shall bring to remembrance those things that I have said.

What is a Church? According to scripture the Word means a gather of people.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
    (Eph 4:11-13)

The Lord gave us Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers. Who does the Lord give these folks to?

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
    (Pro 14:6)

Understandeth means to mentally separate diligently, prudent, looking well into perceive to be instructed.

Jesus said it a bit more simply.
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
    (Mar 4:23-24)

The Lord gave us the 5 power ministry gifts. These Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Teaches, and Pastors are out there somewhere.
So it can't be possible that what is considered a "Real" church is missing anything.

Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
    (Act 2:47)

If the Church is right (not perfect all the time but right with the Lord) then those that will hear get directed to that Church body.

The problem is not everyone wants to give the Lord 100% or make Jesus 100% Lord over everything. So they filter in those churches not really doing much and no power.

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
    (Joh 7:17)

What if your the type that just marries without seeking God first, or when you get paid, your bills and what you want is the first thing that comes to mind. You would not bulk at leaving a church to move for a better Job. Who is first? If it's not the Kingdom of God, then you will be confused in doctrine and you normally end up in just any old church with little power.

Not my words, Jesus said that.

Remember the teachers and folks with itchy ears? Itchy ears don't like pressure to change, and many teachers of the word just gain tons of knowledge with no power.

So we have a whole lot of churches for these folks because they still want to be saved and go to some church. People even pick churches by denominations............... how dumb is that? but it tells you what God wants is not first, its what they want.

    Story:
The Lord asked me to work with an apostolic minister. He was a great guy, but his doctrine needed lots of help. He had a Church that had been there for over 30 years and all 12 faithful people showed up every Sunday morning. Better than 11 I guess.

So in my thinking as I was helping him. I figured that the Apostolic doctrine was way to far off for the church to grow. Why would the Lord send anyone to a place where your told if you don't speak in tongues you can't be saved? That was 1 of the 100 on my list.

So, being smart and scripture minded like I am, I asked the Pastor at one of our lunches what does he believe would make the church grow. I mean 30 years? is a long time for only 12 people. He told me that He needed to paint the front door. (It was purple, so ya, true that) and that we were in a bad area. (Not really, we were not far from downtown) He had a few other ideas, none focusing on his Apostolic belief's.

I was about to break it down for him!!! The Lord stopped me though. The Lord said," It's not the belief or the church, the Church is only there because that is what people want to hear."

Weeks of planing what to say to this Pastor, down the drain.

So I asked, "Would you like help painting that door?"

    Michael.

  9. If you mean the church on air, i.e. the one whole church made of all believers of Jesus Christ from all corners of the earth, then my answer is that the church lack nothing because all that is necessary for her growth is being provided. God is in the inner room (heaven), Jesus made the way (Luke 23:45), The Holy Spirit leads us to Him(Rom 8:26,27), Ephesian 2:18.

Our God in heaven has everything good in abundance for us Rom.11:33-36

if we need, we draw from His abundance through the leading of the Holy Spirit John 16:13-15, Rom 8:26,27. Because Christ had opened the way for us and the Church in particular is referred to as Christ's wife and He loved her dearly, a love that surpasses all was manifested on the Calvary's cross. He could not withhold any good from her, so the church lack nothing.

All we need in our local churches is devotion and yielding to the present leadership of the Holy Spirit to have this abundance of God the Father in full.

  10. I'm glad you said it. This is exactly what I was going to say. "The Church" could mean about three different things; The institution founded by God, the clergy, and the laity.

  11. While certainly not an exhaustive list, today's westernized church generally lacks things mentioned in Revelation 2-3:
    • love for Christ above all (Matthew 10:37-38),
    • holiness - moral and spiritual integrity (1 Peter 1:15-16),
    • a vital dependence and walk with the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16),
    • an awareness of its spiritual condition (Revelation 3:18),
    • humility (1 Peter 5:5-6), which leads to
    • repentance (2 Corinthians 7:8-10).
