What Does God Tell Us About Debt?

Discussion in 'Bible Study' started by Glenn, Jul 21, 2014.

  1. I know the Bible says that the borrower is slave to the lender but what else does it say about debt? What are some verses?

  2. Matthew 18:23-35.

This is the best information on debt. As it pertains not only to monetary debt but to other physical debts.

It is the best call to also end usury. Because usury is sinful.

  3. Be indebted to no man (bank, friend, parents, credit cards, employer); 'The borrower is slave to the lender'.

Paul would say we have a spiritual debt to Christ in a way; and in a way I agree: Christians are indebted through Christ to be the Salt and Light of the earth. (to do Good in His name, not because we have too-but because we WANT too...)
