Got my wildlife book out…
its early but I’m on my second coffee after penning this
Matthew 6:27
-:-
Got my wildlife book of birds
Down from the shelf today
Early morning coffee saw me in the garden again,
First I noticed the call,
Hadn’t heard that, in my garden before,
A sweet sounding trill
Followed by squeaky tones
I looked to see who owned that song
Directly at head height,
in the bush in front of me
a song thrush sang
He stood there clutching the branch so tight
Singing its little heart out,
Paused, inclined his head
Looked at me, staring straight into my eyes
For a moment silently connects
Looking deep into my soul
Then with high trill
Repeats his call, a love song to his creator
A love song to his God
This went on for what seemed like hours
Then with a jump,
a flap of his wings,
He was gone.
I stood there mesmerised
Glued to the spot
Thinking,
if God so cared so much for the least of these these.
What’s He got in store for me?
