  1. The devil made me do it

Too often I hear Christians blame satan for all the bad or unpleasant stuff in their lives, much like atheists unjustly blame God.

satan isn't always to blame. Sometimes we bring the trouble on ourselves and I think it would do us good to accept the responsibility.

This forum is such a wonderful site to fellowship and discuss our Lord.... and maybe I am misunderstanding, but it seems like so many are suggesting people can't make bad decisions on their own without satan influencing them to do so.

I think we make decisions whether to sin or not all the time based on our own desires. Blaming the enemy for everything bad is like blaming your friend for talking you into drinking too much or stealing something or any other OR blaming him/her even when he/she wasn't there to ag you on!

I absolutely belive in todays society, the enemy has very little work to do as most people are very eager to engage in all kinds of immorallity without any coaxing whatsoever.

I simply find it disturbing when people blame someone else for their actions. Even if someone, whether physical or spiritual being, plants a suggestion in our mind, we have full opportunity to accept or reject the idea.

  2. sorry to tell you we live in a world full of fallen people.and are used to defeat live in a warzone.people are being cohersed into self destruction.without the holy spirit you are satan chow.
  3. G'day Ginger,
I think you are both right and wrong here. I believe you are right in that we are accountable for our own sins and mistakes. We do have free will and sometimes we exercise our freedom in the way of captivity to sin. see Romansw 7:21-25, Paul talks about this problem here.
I believe that you are mis understanding the real nature of the satan, who is always ready to exploit our weaknesses. see James 4:7, Eph 4:26,27.
There are other passages, however I think enough said.
    Hope this helps

  4. Romans 7:21-25 (New International Version)

21So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22For in my inner being I delight in God's law; 23but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. 24What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

I agree with you Calvin, I think. Sometimes there is an outside force tempting us, but sometimes we are battling ourselves. Either way, we have a choice. Unless of course there would be a posession causing us to lose control. But that can't happen to a Christian unless he/she has done something to leave him/herself vulnerable and open to attack.
  5. this is a spirit war, without the Holy spirit and saved, you have a fallen spirit which is satans food.(REALLY IMPORTANT TO ASK FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT)spinning who is mod on here didn,t even know about this.????????? and has she got the Holy spirit ,or another spirit posing as the Holy spirit.the people who told her ,you would need to search there recruits.......start typing 2----3 all the time without knowing or knowing there spiritually dead.
  6. That is why we have to captivate every thought and put it under the Blood of Jesus .

Thanks for this , Ginger . People need to see this .
  7. Satan invites us to do all sorts of things we shouldn't do.

It is up to us to decline his invitation.

  8. and inform our and others children.

  9. Amen IHL .... But when we are carrying our sword of Truth with us , we can withstand the darts of satan . Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world .
  10. Ginger, I agree with you.

For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

    1 Tim 13-14

Satan wasn't able to deceive Adam yet Adam still sinned.

There are things we can blame the devil with. But not everything:

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins
    Heb 10:26

Sinning wilfully can only be done by the person doing the sin. Not satan.
