Salvation prayer

  1. For all who have never been saved, you need to pray this prayer, and really mean it in your heart:

"LORD JESUS, I KNOW THAT I AM A SINNER. I BELIEVE THAT YOU DIED ON THE CROSS FOR MY SINS. I REPENT OF MY SINFUL WAYS. FROM THIS MOMENT ON, I TURN AWAY FROM MY SINS, AND TURN MY LIFE OVER TO YOU, JESUS. I ASK YOU TO COME INTO MY LIFE, NOT JUST AS SAVIOR, BUT AS MY LORD. THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME. HELP ME TO LIVE FOR YOU FROM THIS DAY FORWARD, AND PREPARE MY HEART FOR YOUR SOON RETURN. IN JESUS' NAME, I PRAY, AMEN."

For all of you who have been saved, but know in your heart that you are separated from God, because of the way that you are living your life, TODAY is your day to prepare your heart for the Rapture, so that you can escape the soon-coming Sudden Destruction. If you are a backslidden, compromising, unwatchful, worldly, or lukewarm Christian, there is a good chance that you are not spiritually ready for the Rapture. If you feel a conviction of this, right now you need to pray this prayer, and mean it in your heart:

"LORD, JESUS, I AM SO SORRY FOR STRAYING FROM YOU. YOUR WORD SAYS WITHOUT HOLINESS NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD. YOUR WORD SAYS THAT IF I DO NOT SEPARATE MYSELF FROM THE WORLD, THAT YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ME. YOUR WORD SAYS THAT IF I AM IN A LUKEWARM SPIRITUAL CONDITION THAT YOU MUST SPEW ME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. LORD, I HAVE NOT BEEN HOLY. LORD, I HAVE NOT SEPARATED MYSELF FROM THE WORLD. LORD, I KNOW THAT I HAVE BEEN LUKEWARM. PLEASE FORGIVE ME. I REPENT OF MY SINS, AND MY FOCUS ON THINGS OF THIS WORLD, AND NOT ON THE THINGS OF GOD. I FEEL IN MY HEART THE ERROR OF MY WAYS, AND THE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES OF THEM.

I TURN AWAY FROM MY SINS, MY BACKSLIDING, MY WORLDLINESS, MY COMPROMISING WAYS, AND MY LUKEWARMNESS. I TURN MY LIFE BACK OVER TO YOU. DRAW ME CLOSE TO YOU ONCE AGAIN. CONVICT ME OF THE SINS IN MY LIFE, AND GIVE ME THE STRONG DESIRE TO ACT UPON THAT WHICH YOU SHOW ME. AND GIVE ME THE POWER OF YOUR HOLY SPIRIT, TO OVERCOME MY SINS AND THE TEMPTATIONS THAT THE ENEMY WOULD SEND MY WAY. FROM THIS POINT ON, HELP ME TO WALK CLOSE TO YOU, JESUS. I RECEIVE YOUR BLESSED FORGIVENESS, AND I RECEIVE THE POWER OF YOUR HOLY SPIRIT, WHICH WILL GIVE ME VICTORY OVER SIN AND TEMPTATION. PREPARE MY HEART FOR YOUR SOON RETURN. IN JESUS' NAME, I PRAY, AMEN."

    God Bless!

  2. Thanks but have said prayers along those lines before... I have tried to turn away from ways I know are wrong but I just seem to get pushed harder then. I suspect I once did feel the power of God's Holy Spirit... I know my own will and deeds can not change things and so it goes on.

I know I've had plenty of wrong thoughts but I still wonder about familiar sin. Trouble there as I stated in another thread is that belief and advice you get can just push you into blame games - "Christians" have given me it is becuase of "Uncle Tom" a lying as to young getting killed in WW2, mother wanting to control my soul, father having murdered my grandmother, etc. it's quite horrific where some "experts" can take you...

Still I can identify a time of change say 1967-1973 where father became an adulterer, one brother "saw" a ghost, I became scared of the dark and as well as a bedwetting problem, one brother cut his eye, another a fit, we stopped going to church, etc.

I still sometimes wonder if my own failure to get the real breakthrough stems from something that happened (which may just be simple childhood bad reactions to bad things) but I also know one can get dangerous and foolish advice...

  3. Good prayer. May I suggest this. The sinners prayer. It is along the word you speak of but in short. Watch this.........

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen

    I learned this in AA.

    Chili out.

  4. Great post HeroOfGod :)

  5. I'm all for the salvation prayer. Very cool. :)
But have you noticed it's not even in the Bible? Just something to check out :)

  6. It doesn't say those exact words but the principle is in there :)

Luke 13:2And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Romans 10:9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  7. Yup! Wasn't starting a debate. Just thought it was interesting that there was no salvation prayer there =]

  8. Well, I think I'll shaqre mine,...if I can remember what I said.....

I was desperate and I fell to my knees on my living room floor:

    Dear God,

.......I don't want this freeewill thing anymore. All I do is mess things up. I want you to take control of my life.

That's all I remember, but I meant that with every ounce of my being. When I finished praying, I got up and went about my sinfull life as usual, afterall, I couldn't change anything, I dodn't know how. But, looking back, I can see how God began working in my life from that moment on.
