Poem#119 Outsider
Luke 7, James 1, Isaiah 55
What kind of faith does it take to believe Jesus does as spoken
What will it take to leave our burdens at the altar of Jesus to let go
And follow through with our Trust in Jesus
Those closest to Jesus no such faith was found, they all doubted
They all asked questions with doubt before giving into obedience
Yet an outsider had faith they did not & believed the Word of Jesus
How often do we pray with doubt of being answered in our way
Not thinking of God’s way even though God’s faithfulness provided
God’s never let us down once, yet still doubt the next time in need
Now that God’s walking among us in the person of Jesus Christ
We’ve been walking, listening in doubt of His Word spoken flesh
Jesus does what He said as God, as Father did, now Jesus does
Don’t allow Pharisees of today leave us doubting when we’ve lived
God’s allowed us to live long enough to know Jesus arrives on time
Even when casket’s lids been closed Jesus says not so fast
Jesus arrived in time to raise us up out of death into His Death, then Life
So we can Trust Him with our Burdens, not just our Sin left at the cross
We get to walk out with Jesus knowing His Word makes the Way
Perfector of Faith is Jesus and knowing Jesus does what He says
Trusting when Jesus speaks His Word’s command is being done
We can Trust His Word to not return void, but guides us until done
