Poem#107 Don’t have To Give In
Genesis 4
The first sons Cain & Able tell a story that most won’t understand
As many know the tales of Cain killing Able , but miss what God says
Father like Son, Mother like Son they failed to Listen to Truth
God’s worth isn’t found in Left over selections of our praise offerings
Holy Creator that’s given us everything excepts nothing but Holy firsts
Anything short of the best we have to offer will be pickings of unholy
Cain didn’t understand matters of the heart, but we should by now
Doesn’t mean we should get angry when priorities are out of order
Don’t have to give into the hurt of pride, don’t have to give in to Sin
God gave Cain a chance to change the way he thinks before acting
Cain could have repented instead of lashing out in Anger in killing Able
As Blood of the innocent cries out to God even as He shows Mercy
We don’t have to give in even as pride floods our thoughts of hurt
Truth is we’re owed nothing, the victory’s we have isn’t even our own
God gives to those He loves, & takes away from those He loves
While we’re giving into pride & Sin, God’s testing to draw pride out
God knows it’s only matter of wrong thinking at the wrong time to Sin
Becoming Sons & Daughters to habits & knows we need Holy intervention
Cain & Able could have been so much more if only we’d have learned
God gives us chances to surrender our Anger, before the sun goes down
