  1. Hello,

Thank you for allowing me to join this forum. First, let me say this up front. I believe in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. As my user name indicates, I am a seeker. My love for the Lord has brought me to learn more, find ways to solidify my faith and eventually become Born Again. I hope to learn from you all, give in some small way something back.

  10. Welcome to the chat family!! :D
  11. Am i a chili lover? Buddy, I live in Tucson, lived in New Mexico and South Texas. Chili is the eighth wonder of the world to me! I grow them from seed stock smuggled out of Hatch, New Mexico the green chili capital of the planet. Although I am an Anglo, I can cook with chili's as good or better than any Mexican out there! There is nothing like a big bowl of green chili stew to warm up your innards!

  13. Thank you very much Lynn. There is no problem with me talking about this. My faith is an open book. I have ready have a strong commitment to the Lord and Jesus Christ. What I am actually seeking is looking for a home church. This to me is a serious life task. So, I am moving slowly and methodically to find the church that rings true to me. If that is Pentecostal, Methodist, Charismatic or what ever God will lead me to the right one. I visit a different church every Sunday, listen, pray, see what the church family is like. I do give each church a couple of visits before something tells me to move on. Some have seemed OK. I rejected one immediately when I met with the assistant pastor about possibly joining the congregation the first thing the he did was hand me a form to disclose my personal finical information. And then lectured me on tithing and how the church has levies that must be met before even knowing my name. (Note to self, don't try a church where the pastor drives a Porsche) Another non-denominational church was down right weird. Am I sure the Lord will hit me between the eyes when the right one shows up. That is probably an big exaggeration. The right church and church family will just draw me back by the force of the love of God and the love of the members. This search has only been for about four moths and I am comfortable with the way it is going. But do keep me in your prayers for His help in my search.

Thank you again. And God bless you and everyone.
  14. Hi Seeking,

I'm so glad to know that you are looking for the right church, but don't think that you have to find a church before becoming born again. This is a link to an interactive lesson on salvation : - feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Yup, I would have been high-tailing it out of there pretty quickly, too! It really saddens me that some pastors/churches do this kind of thing, but I'm really glad to know that the experience hasn't turned you off looking. I certainly pray that the Lord will lead you to the right place.

  15. God bless you and welcome!!
