End Times- Why Are We Goofy?

Discussion in 'General Discussions' started by MichaelH, Dec 10, 2013.

  1. I made a site called "Christian Victory in the Last days"

You know, we might be getting close to the end and I figure a site to help others grow in faith in God and walk in the authority given to us by Jesus. I thought it was a great name and now I am not so sure.

Don't get me wrong, I believe in a pre-trib rapture, have nothing against those that believe that. I don't even care if you believe in a post-trib and think we go through some tribulation. The whole point was to prepare spiritually for the days to come.

Sadly though, last days, or end time Christian stuff gets a "One of those" treatments. We have tons of other web sites out there with all kinds of doom and gloom prophecy about how we suck at getting the Word out, churches are falling apart and America along with everyone else is doomed.

I don't think I could stand one more prophecy about how America is going down the tubes. It's like someone is passing out a script to read from and then call it a "Thus saith the Lord" One guy posted a video about how He and the wife fasted 40 days to get the year Prophecy for all the Churches. He said the dollar is going to fall, Your momma is going to start carrying a machine gun, Churches not part of the "REAL" church are doomed. "Whats a real church anyway?" and how all the real Christians are going to come together. Bla, bla, bla, bla.

The poor guy starved himself to get nothing!!!

There are pages about animals dying off mysteriously this year. Yes, scruffy the neighbors dog died so it must be close to the end. Israel found this special ink, the East Gate is going to open, and who cares? Jesus said watch two things and yet we get list of things that prove it's the end. True or not it don't matter, just anything that would alarm someone.

I have to change the name of my site. It's going to be some work, but nobody likes labels and I feel bad that some of my Brothers and Sisters are not all there mentally. Just reading over one ladies post about how we have to get ready to battle Satan, and we have to put oil on our door frames. Why do I have to battle Satan? Jesus already kicked the snot out of him and the last enemy to be defeated will be death. Praise God death won't hold us, it has no sting.

Anyway, if you read this far then you need to find something better to do. I know I do.

    Your all blessed.

that is interesting .. God use to give the High Priests a yearly prophecy ..
but the problem was, even though He did, they were not led by the HS and thus misinterpreted it ..

Jhn 11:50 nor do you take into account that it is expedient for you that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.”
Jhn 11:51 Now he did not say this on his own initiative, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation,
Jhn 11:52 and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.
  3. I am not against prophecy, and I know Churches have a year prophecy sometimes where the Lord will tell what He would like to do with that certain body of Christ. (Not global for every church prophecy) I have no issues with that.

Just when you go to a "END TIME" site, all these yearly prophecy's seem to be read from the same script. Doom and gloom it's all not going to end well. Do I really need to fast 40 days to end up with that?

It puts a bad spin and makes the subject of end times look stupid. Those that don't know may not even want to discuss end time stuff because of all the nut cases.

Does the Lord really give "Real" yearly prophecy?
I believe so in certain cases for a particular body. We don't throw baby out with the bath water, but if you attach "End Time" to it then it normally ends up in the land of the loons.

Thank you for taking the time to read my rants.

This guy here. He starts off by saying he is not promoting his ministry. That is false humility, why would you not want to promote your ministry? What is wrong with that? Then He tells us about this 40 day fast, and who cares? How does that effect prophecy?

I don't dislike the guy but he could at least have actually heard God and not read from some script. None of this is thus saith the Lord.

  4. of course I read your post .. I always read yours ..
I just need to stop reading anything politically motivated ..
those have a way of kicking the spiritual right out of you .. well, at least they do for me ..

people who mean well, but are not led by the HS diminish the power of the word (as seen in the High Priest example I gave) .. I don't shy away from prophecy, but I prefer to concentrate on the obvious .. that being living according to God's will .. if you do that, you really don't have to be too concerned about end-times prophecy .. and prophecy in itself does not help our spiritual health ..

the end-times prophecies are actually quite explicit, and a very close approximation of Jesus 2nd coming can be realized upon the participation of certain events ..
  5. In my experience, few things do more damage to the perception of Christianity than "end times" predictions. Every now and then, some Christian pastor goes public with a time and date, the media picks up on it, it goes viral, the date comes and goes, and people laugh and mock "those stupid Christians".

I remember my Great Grandmother (a very conservative fundamentalist Christian) telling me when I was a kid that when she was my age, she was told hers would be the last generation before the Apocalypse. She just chuckled and said I'll be told the same thing, as will my kids, and their kids, and so on. Then she told me not to pay attention to such nonsense and "God knows what He's doing. He'll take care of things, you just make sure you're ready."

    I'll never forget that.
  6. Thank you Ixoye_8 and River Jordan.

My post was about the End time forums and different sites and how they beat the same drum. My post was a little bit more selfish motivated as I named my site "Christian Victory in the Last days" I get disappointment from those expecting some great World ending prophecy and my site lacks all the doom and gloom news that is normally posted.

Those that see the site and are up to their eyeballs already with all the end time stuff don't give my site a second glance because of all the preconceptions that we believers crank out about the end times. Some like me just don't care to hear that Obama is the devil in 20 different ways. God bless Obama, I hope he gets a few things right that make a positive impact despite some of his other issues.

I need to get a grip and just rename my website, which means new sitemap.xml, graphics and uggh..

Christian Victory Forum is good enough.

River Jordan, your right, there are far more things out there that are worse than our version of End times stuff. I have seen we are accused of condoning rape (From certain bible scriptures that are misused) and bunches of other things people say about us. You have to speak in tongues to be saved, Movies are all evil, God loves dead soldiers, and the list goes on. Far more worse than my little issues.

Your blessed everyone!! I am fixing on it now. I don't want to be associated with End time stuff.

just because someone is not led by the HS, and by their own interpretation try to interpret prophecy (contrary to scripture telling them not to) that does not make them "a perception of Christianity" nor does their erroneous interpretation "do damage to Christianity" .. it only exposes them as not led by the HS .. I also find those who "laugh and mock" as not worth listening to, because a Christian does not do that to other Christians .. they help them ..

Jesus in fact did tell people "this generation will see Him return" .. and we in fact still belong to that same "generation" to those whom Jesus said that to ..

your great-grandmother did give you good advice .. being ready means to be do what Jesus told us .. that being to: believe in Him and His sacrifice for sin, not to sin, and if we do to repent of it and teach others to do the same ..
  8. Michael .. I like your title ""Christian Victory in the Last days" ..
it is something many Christians are concerned with ..

if you want to understand the end-times prophecy timeline, I would be happy to help you with it .. I don't tell many people what God has showed me, for the fact it has an effect of making people lax, when every day counts to what we do ..

  9. I'm not talking about Christians doing those things. I'm talking about the larger society getting a negative perception of Christianity from a fairly regular stream of failed "end times" predictions.

    Yep. :)
  10. God is associated with "end time stuff" ..
and if He didn't want us to know and be aware, He most certainly would not have gave us these prophecies ..

here is a good example .. God said the Hebrews would regain their land, and not loss Israel again .. this was fulfilled in 1948 ..

Amo 9:15 “I will also plant them on their land, And they will not again be rooted out from their land Which I have given them,” Says the LORD your God.

the key to the end-times prophecy timeline is the Jewish Temple ..
the Jews have taken the Temple design from Ezekiel's vision and have drawn plans for it
the Jews have made new Temple "furniture" (alar, laver etc) already ..
the Jews have a stock of "red heifers" already ..

and if you go to Rev, you see God tells John "do not measure the outer court, for it belongs to the nations" .. which the Islamic's do have control of the Temple mount ..

so, all that needs to be done, is to strike a deal (which has a major plus for both sides) .. the Palestinians want Jerusalem as their capital .. the Jews want their Temple, because they have not had a way to atone for sin for 1,950 years (70ad) ..
Jerusalem is divided into 4 quarters .. NW = Christian, NE = Arabs, SW = Armenian, SE = Hebrew ..
IF the Jews divide Jerusalem in half N & S, and trade that for a spot on the Temple mount to build their Temple, then once that Temple goes up, (beginning at when they resume sacrifice) you have about 10 years before the 2nd coming according to scripture ..
  12. As awesome as all that may be....... with red Heifers and inks, east gates and what not. I'll leave that for all those end time forums.

Jesus said...... Watch the desolation, Watch the gospel preached all over the World.

I try to keep the list short of things to watch.

  13. exactly Michael ..

I'll give you one last thing about end-times prophecy .. the reason no one can figure out 666, is because they are not using the Greek to do it with ..

Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.

  15. I think I saw that mark in a bar code on my breakfast cereal. Now what I do?

I changed my forum name, and removed that victory in the last days. Had I know ahead of time........... I have the Holy Spirit, I should have checked in and asked. It was something simple, why ask?

It tends to bother me a bit that I am dumb as Rocks without the Holy Spirit. Even the wife says, "Is this something God is telling you, or you saying it?" I have ideas too!!! May be wrong, but I do have ideas.

I wanted it to be orange for my signature but it stayed blue. I don't care to fix it, it changed enough and I seen enough of photoshop for the day, lettering and just stuff.

God Bless everyone!!! I do get excited about scriptures and the Word of God.
  16. thank you for the laugh ..
so am I dumb as rocks without Him ..

He taught me that lesson a while back ..
by going out on your own on things .. it can surely be a humbling experience ..

I attended DTS & MBI and they got nothin on the HS ..

    blessings ..
  17. Praise God, without Jesus, he said you can do nothing!!! It's when I forget he said that, things don't go as planed.

  18. 9 The great dragon was thrown out, that ancient serpent, also known as the Devil and Satan [the Adversary], the deceiver of the whole world. He was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him. Rev. 12:9

So what does this scripture underlined portion really mean? Are HS led Christians a part of the whole world?
  19. deceiver of the whole world means he HAS got everyone one time or another ..
ALL HAVE SINNED .. not all are still sinning or being deceived ..
  20. Because prophecy is part of scripture we are commanded to study it.

What is passed off today is mostly newspaper exegesis where one takes current events and tries to force them into the biblical prophetic passages. This is exactly opposite to how prophecy should be learned. First learn what the prophets foretold then as events around us take place they may or may not have a bearing.
