Advice For 'Last Days'.
Brethren,
The Holy Spirit gave me this a day ago and I
want to share and minister to you God's Word.
We are being bombarded daily by the 'Doom and
Gloom' prognosticators in the media, newspapers,
movies and even some Christian prophecy teachers!!
What 'advice' does the bible suggest for believers in
these 'End Times'? God wants His children unafraid
and to be a bold witness! Daniel 12:3,4.
How are we to act in the face of tremendous adversity,
strife, hate, disease, death, stress on all corners of life?
God's Word gives us the answer!
1Peter 4:7: But the end of all things is at
hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch
unto prayer.
1Peter 4:8: And above all things have fervent
charity among yourselves: for charity shall
cover the multitude of sins.
1Peter 4:9: Use hospitality one to another
without grudging.
The word Greek word for 'sober' is sophroneo
{so-fron-eh'-o} which means:
1) to be of sound mind
a) to be in one's right mind
b) to exercise self control
1) to put a moderate estimate upon one's self,
think of one's self soberly 2) to curb one's passions
We are to keep this spirit [attitude] of 'sobriety
in our watching!
Greek word for 'watch' nepho {nay'-fo} def.
to be sober, to be calm and collected in spirit.
And in closing, the bible says we are to be 'stretched'
out as it were in God's Agape, devine 'unselfish' type
brotherly love, affection, good will, love,
benevolence and giving and showing 'hospitality'.
The recipe for believers in these 'last days' is to
keep our hearts and minds firmly established and
'fixed' on the 'lover of our souls'!
That's what Jesus meant about His soon return
for His church in Matthew 24:42.
'Watch' Greek word gregoreuo {gray-gor-yoo'-o}
def. give strict attention to, be cautious, active.
This is echoed in the above 1Peter 4:8,9!
What do we as Christians say to 'these' things coming upon
the earth brethren! What is our response to the 'No hope'
message of the world?!
2Tim. 1:7: For God hath not given us the
spirit of fear; but of power, and of love,
and of a sound [sober]mind.
God Bless,
