  1. 2 kings 6:29

Does anyone have any insight on this, i was study and came across it and i just can't seem to shake it, it upset my stomach . can anyone help me to understand , i can't help bu tto wish i had never came across it.is that wrong
  2. Strange, I don't ever remember reading anything like that in the Bible. What king was this? It keeps referring to the Kind of Isreal, but never says a name. Only mentions it was during the time of Elisha.
  3. i can't get the picture of boiling and eating a child out of my mind, i am having a hard time with it , i am praying that God will give me the ability to understand it all.
  4. As a result of disbediance to God great judgement had come- without the blessing of God these folks became more desperate and sank lower each day until finally they came to this state. Devour the fruit of their womb or die.The flesh that puts itself first and does not seek God is capable of great evil. No good fruit can be born or sustained outside of God's blessing- the worst part is if they had but followed God they would never have come to this aweful point.
  5. In addition, If you read this same ENTIRE CHAPTER in the New Living Translation Text, you will gain some additional insight into why these incidents took place the way that they did. Also, remember that some Books of the Bible are formatted in PARABLE FORM... using things that the uneducated people of the day could relate to from their own observations around them and from their every day lives. Click on the link below in highlight to view the NLT text and make certain that you read the entire chapter...

  6. Nice Pastor Gary- I particularlly like this verse:
16 “Don’t be afraid!†Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!â€
  7. Exactly - That is why in THIS CASE, I suggested the NLT... for English language clarity and understandability that is accurately based upon the original Hebrew texts.

Onamission4him: We hope that these comments have helped you to see what really went on there and why. Blessings to you.
  8. No, it is not wrong. The Bible clearly warns that such a day will come. Maybe it is your assignment to petition to the Lord that such a day will be delayed and be very short for this nation and all others.
  9. I'm pretty sure this period of time already came during the reigns of the Kings in Israel. During that time God actually declared Israel as more abominous than Sodom 8-/
  10. It is a sad thing to ponder but not unbelievable- even today we see parents murder and horribly abuse their kids.
  11. True, but at least they don't eat their children once they have killed them. I know I wouldn't be able to stand eating ANY part of ANY human being, especially a child, since they are so vulnerable!
