Pre fall we know very little, but there are a few clues given us if we look for them.
Fistly look at :
Gen 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Man without his compliment is incomplete.
Gen 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
This seems to imply that God's presence was not noticably present at all time there in the pre fall garden. The dialogue between the serpent and Eve seems strange if the Lord God was present, but in His absence, He could be and was freely discussed.. at no time was He called apon to affirm His rule.
It seems reasonable that man was left to his own devices so to speak.
Now jumping ahead,
Jesus taught us that there would be no marriage in heaven...
Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
Mar 12:25 For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
Why? there are many things that can be offered in answer to that question, the one germane to your OP is that looking ahead to post resurrection, Jesus new that we would all be complete in Him in the new Jerusalem , we would have no need of a compliment, as we do here in this pre resurrection life because;
After the reusuurction,...............Rev 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God..
So Pre fall God visited man probably on a daily basis, but lived in heaven.
Post rapture things havde changed.
