Trials and Troubles more precious than gold

Your scripture is a goodone KJ now if you read on you will Hear it said that SEEK GOD AND HIS KINGDOM FIRST. This simply means do what He has told us in His word and then ALL THESE OTHER THINGS will be added unto you.......
Yes, make sure we are a child of God then all our needs will be met. No need to muster up faith for them. Which means...if they are not met... and we have examined ourselves to be in Christ....?

Holding God to certain promises is how the unsaved and the Jews BC serve Him. All the prophets OT and definitely His children NT do not treat Him like this. God is not a vending machine. Would you like it if your husband said ''Euphemia I am holding you to your promise to clean the kitchen''!? The only promise a husband can hold his wife to is the promise that she will love him and be faithful til death. When you were the helper getting paid for X and Y, he could hold you to them.

We have moved on. We are not God's helpers. We are family.

Yes, we are God's family, His children, and we are so by faith, continuously led along and blessed by our Father who rewards us for our love and faith.

Hebrews 11:6
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

Scripture and verse please. We have Matt 6:26, but that is not a promise we can hold God to. It is a case of once all is said and done we will understand God's reason for all and worship Him for being good. Just consider the Jews in the desert. Mana by night and shade by day. 100% taken care of, but no luxury transport or mansions to live in.

Well, you are believing a lie. God has good plans for all His children and NONE of them include the curse of poverty. The Israelites were wealthy people coming out of Egypt. We need to remind ourselves regularly, as people who forget, that God's promises are true and good.

Psalm 1:3
They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.

2 Corinthians 9:8
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

Do you really believe that ''not applying the concepts of faith'' is walking away like the prodigal son?

If we are aware of the truths concerning faith and do not apply them, then we are no better off than the prodigal, who could have enjoyed his position, but chose his own way and found himself destitute and starving.

1. Jesus was in heaven when Paul and the disciples sold all they had. Yes, they did commune. No, they did not pursue prosperity. Ananias and Sapphira did and died.

2.:LOL::ROFLMAO: Was Jesus and His ministry team booked into 5 star accommodation or hillsides in the country?

1. Possessions tend to hold one don. Best to have the money from the sale of them.
2. Ananias' and Sapphira's sin was not the love of money.
3. The upper room that Jesus and His disciples leased was a well-appointed, rather luxurious room.

I am glad you posted this CCW. I agree 1000% with the underlined. Now just read it for what it is. It IS Jesus being extremely sarcastic. HELLO.....you are my child...OF COURSE I will do X, Y and Z. Ie X, Y and Z should take NO mustering up faith, positive confession, squinting eyes, repeating lines or holding God to promises.

Which means......If we are a child (tick) and X, Y and Z are not done, it is definitely His will and NOT a lack of faith. How do you all not get that? Pay attention to Jesus's sarcasm!! Then use lateral thought. We just have to ensure we are a child / in-Christ. Not apply concepts of faith.....:speechless:
I think verse 11 is critical to this section, and it is above sarcasm.

2Pe 1:2.. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2Pe 1:3.. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4.. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Obviously, if you do not know the Word of God concerning these promises that pertain to "life", and "godliness", or have no faith to believe for them, you will never experience them in your life.
Such to tragedy for a child of God.

KJ this makes no sense at all. Yea well Jesus chose a donkey because the speed shop was closed and His 64 mustang was on the racks. Give me a break here.
For the record. The donkey is actually a very special animal, not to be snuffed at. It may just be the Mustang of all horses.

Brother you might want to study up on this. Jesus had a tresurer to handle their finances.
When they talk about thee house such as thee house they cut a whole in the roof of....It is Thee house which means it was Jesus's house or His ministry head quarters.

Jesus was not poor bro.........He had a ministry team that went with Him all the time which included two woman for the showing or another words testifying every where they went.
You really need to check thingsout before you use them KJ.
Blessings
On the other hand, the treasurer was corrupt. Much like the ones of today - two thousand years later.
Should that not teach us anything.
Let me give you an example, I'm not rich, in fact, I make it by the skin of my pants most months. But can I tell you a secret - I do not care much about money and all that surrounds it.
The reason, and some may not like it, I do not care about money, because I am not willing to give it place above YHVH. And so for the rest. That said, I do firmly believe YHVH, my God my Father in heaven creator of the heavens and the earth, He is my provider.

Brother I did not change a thing...........Paul was old and said He had finished his course and run his race and was ready to collect his reward but he was torn from being with the FATHER or staying to teach those in His life....He chose to stay...........Now that is on point.........

As far as scriptures go KJ ......You have been given scripture after scritpure in thread after thread...........It does no good for you simply twist things.......
YOu have not proved your point......
Paul is a very good example of giving up everything for the gospel of God, that much is true.
Remember as Saul he came from a very affluent family with contracts sky high so to say.
Sorry, I'm chipping in again, this is a cool discussion. Were any of the apostles rich in monetary terms?

Speaking of the Apostle Paul....

Act 28:28 Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen."
Act 28:30 He lived there two whole years at his own expense, and welcomed all who came to him,

Remember, when you give you receive back.

Luk 6:38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you."

this is a cool discussion.

Yup, I agree : )
I like this guy, Agur…his Proverbs 30 especially the red underlined

First red underline: a disclaimer, he obviously saying his thoughts, but that is a disclaimer, as I see it… why the need for a disclaimer follows...

The 2nd red underline: the word of God is pure, we put in our understanding, our opinion, but as i see it, we do not claim it is the Scripture, it is God’s word…. we can only say it is our opinion, lest we be found a liar…
Interesting, this must be the verse that was in my mind why I put my disclaimer below : )

The 3rd underline…is my take on the discussion : )

Proverbs 30 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Wisdom of Agur
30 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, his utterance. This man declared to Ithiel—to Ithiel and Ucal:

2 Surely I am more stupid than any man,
And do not have the understanding of a man.
3 I neither learned wisdom
Nor have knowledge of the Holy One.

4 Who has ascended into heaven, or descended?
Who has gathered the wind in His fists?
Who has bound the waters in a garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is His name, and what is His Son’s name,
If you know?

5 Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
6 Do not add to His words,
Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.

7 Two things I request of You
(Deprive me not before I die):
8 Remove falsehood and lies far from me;
Give me neither poverty nor riches—
Feed me with the food allotted to me;
9 Lest I be full and deny You,
And say, “Who is the Lord?”
Or lest I be poor and steal,
And profane the name of my God.

Ooh, that is powerful.
God in His wisdom for us.
How I wish my brain can absorb everything of Him faster than it's capable.
Oh why did I waste my youthful brain power on rubbish, oh why. But mercifully - it is forgiven, thank you Jesus!
Now I can steadfastly learn and learn and learn until He calls me home.

a verse that was mentioned.. just an opinion on Matthew 6:31-34

sorry, as am into linear thinking than am into : )
yes, I think I can agree the first red underline is a promise…

if we seek, and found successful in seeking, are we to measure by the promise(?) that is: how much that was added?

I think a more critical part is 2nd red underline, the conclusion, that is: the “therefore”…. are we correctly to measure by how much or less “worry” we put (?)

“worry” is an issue: both for the rich and the poor… I guess…

Matthew 6:31-34King James Version (KJV)
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Yes, we focus on the things we worry(thought of tomorrow above) about - so to say.
And then, our focus is on those things that is not God, so, it thus seems, we put those things above God.
In another thread I referenced an important item - where God says, He walks your camp to be able to protect you, but if He sees something improper in your camp, He will turn against you - that is ouchy.
If we elevate something higher than Him, it sure qualifies in the same way where there is an image of another god in your camp.
Camp by the way according to me can be your family, house, belongings, business, etc.
My understanding.

Now you are grasping at straws..Your desire is a selfish one. Ok so you do not wantmoney and want to just get by, cool so believe God for more and give it to His ministries. This is not just about your needs.

Yes but Jesus wanted to hirein another young man but he just could not quite catch on and yet they placed someone else there......

?
Give to caesar what is caesar and to God what is Gods. I dont see Jesus head stamped on our coins these days. He doesnt want our money. God doesnt want our money.

The poor could use the money though. Love of money is a trap. A wealthy christian is not better than a skint christian. Our riches are our good deeds. And our treasures are in heaven.

Kj you can twist things all you want. You can make up things to fit your life all youi want but it does not change anything...

Example.......you claim.....Ananias and Sapphira did and died.
They died because they LIED KJ..........They had the right to give what ever they wanted BUT they said this is ALL WE GOT which was lying to the Holy Spirit. It had nothing to do with them having money. The chapter even tells you this........

Poverty is not being humble before God..........
