Tropical Storm Melissa, Initial Info, 08:00 Hrs CDT-USA, 29 September 2007
Tropical Storm Melissa formed within the past 16 hours and is 260 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands in the Eastern Atlantic. This storm is another very slow mover and is following the approximate track of Tropical Storm Karen. No threat to land is expected from Melissa in the next 7 days. Our next Named Storm Melissa update will take place if conditions change. HOWEVER, we ask that you review Tropical Storm Karen information located elsewhere in this posting area. Some system changes are taking place with Tropical Storm Karen and US East Coast residents should start monitoring the progress of this storm. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ ================================================== ======= "THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ADVISORY.
