Initial Advisory - Tropical Storm Ingrid - 06:00 Hrs CDT-USA, 14 September 2007
Tropical Storm Ingrid is one that we have been watching since it came off the African Coast as a tropical wave over a week ago. This Tropical Storm is a very slow mover heading west northwest at 6 MPH and is currently 800 miles east of the Lesser Antillies. Due to the slow movement, this storm will become better organized over the next several days and may reach low hurricane strength some time this weekend or early next week. However, the storm is encountering upper level wind shear and this may keep strengthening to a minimum for several days. The current track of this storm will place it northeast of Puerto Rico around Wednesday, September 19th. We will post additional updates as needed. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ ================================================== ======= "THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ADVISORY. These updates and advisories are based upon information from our own computer models, NOAA, Local Weather Data Centers, deep water Buoy Data, and other publicly available sources. FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR PROPERTY AND PERSON, please refer to your Local, State, and Federal Authority updates for Official Advisories and Orders. For up to the minute advisories and official updates, it is essential that you monitor your local Emergency Government, NOAA and Local Media Broadcasts. Tropical Storm Ingrid Update 05:30 Hrs CDT-USA, Saturday September 15, 2007
Tropical Storm Ingrid has encountered some upper level winds from the southwest that are keeping it from developing and is actually moving it farther to the north than it was yesterday. Persons in Bermuda can expect some rough Topical weather a week from today as the storm passes nearby. There is one computer model showing a rapid development possibility, similar to hurricane Dean, but that possibility is remote. At this time, the only threat from Tropical Storm Ingrid is to Maritime traffic in the western Atlantic. Our next update will take place IF conditions warrant. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ ================================================== ======= "THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ADVISORY. Tropical DEPRESSION Ingrid Update, 05:30 Hrs CDT-USA, 16 September 2007
Tropical Storm Ingrid has encountered more upper level shear which is keeping the storm from gathering any strength. It has now been downgraded back to a Tropical Depression with winds around 35 MPH in it's center. The slow progress and eventual movement to the northwest and then north over the next week, will keep this storm well out to sea and away from US Coastal areas for the time being. Our next Named Storm Ingrid update will only be posted if this storm intensifies again or changes direction to a more westerly sustained track. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ ================================================== ======= "THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ADVISORY.
