Tropical Storm ERIN formed out of Tropical Depression # 5 in the south central Gulf of Mexico. It is headed due west and will impact the coastal and eastern inland areas of Texas starting in roughly 1 to 2 hours. In excess of 5 inches of rain can be expected in places with flash flooding a possibility. This is mainly a rain maker with only 40 MPH top winds at this time.
Since this storm will not intensify much before Texas landfall, this will be our only Tropical Storm ERIN advisory.
