Your One Biggest Desire

Discussion in 'General Discussions' started by Fish Catcher Jim, Feb 23, 2015.

  1. I thought it would be uplifting to truly write down the biggest desires of our heart.
Then look back and see if they have changed over time.
    Thank You for your responces.
Have a very blessed and peaceful week
  2. Over the years I have grown in the Lord but it was not until I made a choice to totally surrender my all unto Him that He became so much more real in me. I am NOT saying I am there yet, but I am saying each day I strive to learn more of how to do so.

I have gotten to the place where, nothing matters to me other then being what God has created me to be and fulfilling His plan for my life. I want to be more and more like Him and talk more and more like Him and do more and more like Him. I gave Him all my dreams and desires and settled back to allow Him to place His desire for me into me and then trust Him to get me to this place.

For me my one desire is simply, to go after the very heart of God...
    Have a wonderful week

  3. For as long as i can remember, i have had one huge desire, and that is to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. No i know that, that will come in it's time, but i have found that as i seek Him and His peace, He is all that i need, want and desire!

So now that i am older and have been spending time in the Word, my current one desire is to be totally engrafted into the vine, according to John 15, and to shine so that others can see not me, but Jesus! He is my inheritance, my cup of Blessing, everything good that i have comes from Him! I want and desire to be in the place that i have gone so far in God, that there is really no way back to anything without Him. To be able to learn and share my faith, brings great joy.....and encouraging others is somehow, my being able to show Jesus to others.
Thank for the opportunity to share my desires! Blessings and peace be upon You and yours

  5. My biggest desire is most likely something that would feed my own pride. So I pray that it transforms into becoming a saint.

  6. You are a saint.
  7. Thank you.
I am one in the definition that I have been made holy by being a follower of Christ (St. Paul used the word in this way). Although I am more so using it in a way of being a practitioner of heroic virtue.
  8. Scripture says He will give us the desires of our heart. This is not to say He will give us fleshly desire such as material things but the desire for Him and His will. I like Lysander when my flesh leads it is all about me. But the spirit within points in the direction of righteousness points towards Jesus.
Which leaves me with the desire to be cured from the I me and mine disease so Jesus will reign above all things in my life.
  9. I guess my desire is to be with Him all the days of my life. And also to fulfil what He sent me here on earth to do. Like Mary, right now I want to just spend time with Him sitting at his feet and hearing all He has to say.

  10. My one biggest desire was to be loved. I grew up knowing about God. My mom took me to church every Sunday. It was not until my 20 ' s I got a true understanding of Christ and what He did for us.. I was saved, baptized and was on fire for the Lord but I only understood His love...never truly felt what His love was. It took some years but I slowly faded away from my faith (my lack of feeling God truly loved me due to circumstances in my life)....not until 1 1/2 years ago....with no one else to count on....He came....He picked me up....He held me....He loved me! Since then I have realized I've been loved all along! I share an intimacy with our Lord that surpasses anything this world could ever give me! I found my true LOVE

  11. To be virtuous.
And, if it didn't interfere with the above, to be healthy again.

  12. Truly I wish to die and be with the Lord. Living here eats me up and I feel the weight of my sin every day. I just want to be free from evil and dwell in peace with God forever.
  13. We would all love to meet God sooner than we should. We must fulfil Gods plans for our life here in Earth before we reach our true home in Heaven.
God sends us tests here on Earth, so our faith must be strong in Him.

  14. I learned a long long time ago that "Wisdom" is the greatest thing any man could ever "desire", and that "nothing" can be compared to her!
Wisdom is understanding of God's Word. "Wisdom rests in the heart of the man who has understanding".
Why would Wisdom be so great? Because Jesus was made to be our Wisdom!!!
This is what Wisdom will give you, if you have it,

Pro 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
Pro 3:14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
Pro 3:15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
Pro 3:16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
Pro 3:17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
Pro 3:18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Pro 3:21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
Pro 3:22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
Pro 3:23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
    Pro 3:24

Pro 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Pro 4:8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
Pro 4:9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Anybody want some of this stuff?

  15. Cosmic Waffle Hello,
Why do you feel the weight of sin every day ? Notice I did not say "Your"
There is ONLY 2 reasons why this could be.....
One would be of couorse you have not ever repented of them AND gone to the Father and asked Him to forgive you of your sins and tresspass's and to cleanse you of all righteousness.
Then by FAITH received your forgivness and your cleansing of all unreigheousness.

You are allowing our enemy the devil keep you in bondage over things that do not even exist any place other then in the mind of the devil and YOUR MIND if you choose to keep them there.

Saying things like I am just an old sinner saved by grace is not being humble before the Lord.
See YOU can NOT be both...Either you are a sinner or you are saved by Grace.

When we choose to allow sins to weight us down or waller in them and carry them with us all the time..well it is as we are saying that the price that our Lord Jesus OUR "CHRIST" paid for us is not good enough......I was shown this a long time ago and it did open my eyes.
Jesus paid a high price for us.....He took on ALL THE SIN for all time upon Himself.
He made the way for us to be able to go freely and boldly unto the throne room any time we want. He made it so we can be washed by His blood and be cleansed, cleaner then any clean you can imangine and be free from SIN.......He paid our price for us......

Now then if I was to go around feeling the weight of "sin" that He already took care of, well I am saying what Jesus did was not good enough to take my sins away....
It is easy to get tired and want to just get out of this sinful place called the world. I agree with that 100 % however........feeling the weight of SIN in this life is not something a born again believer has to do..We are not supposed to and if we truly honor God, then we wont...

Now then simply tell the devil where to get off and the Father Loves You and your sins are forgiven and forgotten. They are not just forgotten but they are destroyed. Y0ur case has been esponged and the sponge was full of the Blood Of Jesus.....End of story !!

Now live like it.....act like it......walk in the freedom Jesus purchased for you and stop allowing the father of lies, the big deceiver who cons christians into buying his lies to take a flying hike.
Cast him down brother.....Jesus already defeated him for you.....put him under your foot and live free from the weight of stuff that does not exist any more......

Have a blessed and peaceful week
