Would You Work For A Hindu Shikh Priest

  1. My manager is a Hindu Priest, i get negative vibes of him whenever im around him. When i found out he was a Priest who whorships the hindu god / gods I thought to myself Is that right well my God is the only true God his god is a filthy false god, so my manager prays to an idol that is made out of bronze created by man!

How do you look past this. Or overcome it. Do i just work alongside him and ignore that he is a hindu whorshipping priest.

What would you do if you were put in this situation. Refuse to work for this man? Am i going against Gods wishes. Should i try my hardest to get out and find something else. If anything he does not preach to me about his hinduism i dont think hes allowed to anyway. And if he did i would turn right around and preach back to him about Jesus :)
  2. Is there any cause for you deny Christ in your work relationship? Pray for him...
  3. What or who my coworkers worship is not my problem. If the opportunity arises to discuss it
I'm more than happy to oblige. But, at least in the office environments I am accustomed to, wearing your religion on your sleave is considered poor form at best. I have religious items at my desk, no one gripes as long as I keep it to myself on company time. As long as he does not try to cram Hinduism down your throat you have no reason to gripe.
  4. Interesting I found this. Today, I was remembering how one of my first clients was a Pakistani Muslim. Eventually, he cheated me out of more than $5000 I sorely needed. He lied to everyone: me, inspectors, owners, everyone. But, I wanted to apply a Christian ethic and work hard to be the best. You know, the guy who will stand before kings.
So, I fixed and found exceptions for all his mistakes and omissions. I made him look good and got him out of a few jams.

This is what the Holy Spirit brought to memory today: He sent me a dream: I saw demons being thrown out of heaven and dropping to the earth. Close to earth, they popped parachutes. A strong wind blew one. He became tangled in his 'chute with the roots of a fallen, dead tree.

Seeing this, I ran over and pulled out a knife. I began cutting the lines of the 'chute one by one. As I settled into the work, a loud, booming voice sounded, "WHAT are you doing?!?" I found myself looking at myself. I could not believe I was aiding a demon!

Our business relationship ended soon afterward (when he refused to pay the $5000+)

However, Joseph and Daniel both worked for a non-believer, and it was part of God's plan.

Whatever you do, just be sure you are in God's plan. This almost always requires prayer, and plenty of it.
  5. Waht is the starting salary?
  6. What vibes does he get from you - Are you making your faith attractive to him? See Titus 2.
  7. Ask the opposite question to God. Would God want you working with a Christian? We will have eternity with Christians. God spreads us like salt. If we work with other Christians it is because we are not salty. If God had His way there will be no Christian at your work. That is exactly where He needs you ;). It is a good sign!
  8. I agree with KingJ. It sounds like YOU have been placed where God wants you to be.

Now, study the Scriptures! KNOW what to say and allow God to open the door for you.

  10. Some passages to ponder:
Luke. 20:25 He said to them, "Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
Does this include serving Caesar by being employed by a Roman employer?

Matt 5:44. But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Matt 5:45. so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
Matt 5:46. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

Does this mean that we should not practice discrimination?

    What about:

Eph 6:5. Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ,

Col 3:22. Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.

1Tim 6:1. Let all who are under a yoke as bondservants regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled.

Tit 2:9. Bondservants are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,

1Pet 2:18. Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.

  11. Each morning as i leave home to go to work i tell myself this: I am going to work to work for the almighty not a hindu God but Jesus and the Father so should i work any less because the manager believes a false god? No I should work no less but strive as if God is my boss. So i will do my best as the servant, which i am going by what type of work i do.:) Some customers can be mean and nasty, its summer here so the heat doesn't help - quick tempers. But i have one up my sleeve for that. Its is better to serve than to be served by others.
