What Does The Peace Of God Feel Like?

  1. I know that I have parroted that the peace of God surpasses all understanding in some of my posts on Christian forums thinking that I have felt it, but after doing some thinking and self reflection, I honestly don't know what it is. I don't think I have every had a semblance of peace in my 40 years of life. So I would have no clue what peace even feels like, let alone a peace that surpasses all understanding.

So what exactly does this peace feel like?
  2. You know that sleepy feeling you have as you put head on your pillow at night and have a final chat with God before you drift off. The comfy cozy feeling, where you are all warm and quiet. That is kind of close, but then it is so much more that words cannot describe it. I have also felt that kind of peace in the hug of a child. Sorry, that's the best I got, it's not much, but I hope it helps. :)

  3. I cannot say that I actually do know that feeling. One minute I am awake, the next I'm asleep. I don;t feel an in between moment.

I'm not sure I would even know what peace feels like even if it bit me you know where.
  4. Have you asked God to send you His peace? Sometimes what happens is we get to looking and searching so hard, we forget to ask.

  6. It is like...

A warm blanket on a cold night
    Being held in someones arms
When you breathe a sigh of relief, and keep exhaling deeply
When you know that God loves you no matter what
When you pray and pray until there are no more words left to pray...God will answer and deal with it
Sleeping like Jesus in the midst of a storm on a boat in choppy waters
    The eye of a hurricane
All is calm, all is bright
The feeling you get when you sing and believe the words to Silent Night
A breath of fresh air, an open window, a sea breeze
    Psalm 23

Paul write about this peace in one of his letters to the church. How whatever he was going through he was content. He was chucked in prison and beaten and abused, yet he still praised the Lord. Becuae the joy of the Lord is your strength. It is knowing, even if buffeted around by satan, that he cannot touch your soul. It is knowing you belong completely to God.
Surrender your entire life to God and He will give you this peace. Not bits and pieces but His peace that passes all understanding. Dont try and analyse..just trust in Him. It is past all understanding, as His ways are higher than your ways.

  7. My mind and heart are at total peace. The pure love that I feel is incredibly over flowing and a very safe feeling. Who better can provide this peace than Jesus? No one. The acceptance I get from our creator God brings me to my knees with tears of JOY and praises to HIS Holy name.
That is best as I can describe it.

  8. Personally, I think the peace of God in someone's life is so evident when they hold up while being hit with disasters.. How a believer would cope up with some losses in life when compared to unbelievers is like day and light. Work of Holy Spirit would be so evident.. So contrasting.. That is when peace of God is so evident.. I have experienced that..

  9. This is a good thread!! I love it.
  10. For me the peace is being able to get past my troubles in life when I come to a church service or come to a place where I serve Him, the troubles are still there but I don't even think about them till the next day.
  11. To me it is knowing that in God's hands everything will be all-right, always and forever.
