  2. So these people are teaching the following:

Members Church of God International Teachings

    [edit] Teachings about God

    • There's God, YHWH (God of Israel) or God the Father who is the Creator of the universe and YHWSA HMSYH, the Son of God, whom He made Lord and Christ . God is not omnipotent (he cannot do certain things like lying).[12] God is not omniscient (he doesn't foreknow all future human actions and choices). God is not omnipresent (he created hell but he is not there).
    • Jesus Christ (Yhwsa Hmsyh) is God the Father's only begotten son (in Romanized Greek: monogenestheos). He is that Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace in Isaiah 9:6. He is recognized as the Apostle and High Priest of the church. He is the sent savior of mankind and the way, the truth and the life.[13].
    • The Holy Spirit came from the Father and part of the Godhead.
    [edit] Teachings about the Church

    • The Members Church of God International affiliates to the only true church of God first preached in Jerusalem during the 1st century A.D.and brings the message of salvation to the world. The church of God is the Kingdom of God on earth and is necessary for one's salvation. Those who have heard of the gospel and of the church must join this church in order to be saved..
    • A member of the Members Church of God International can lose his salvation if he doesn't persevere until the end.
    • The official name of the true church in the Bible is Church of God in Christ Jesus.[14]
    • The laws of Moses, the 10 Commandments including Shabbat and tithing have been abolished and replaced with the laws of Christ in the New Testament.
    • Salvation can only be attained by following all the laws of Christ in the New Testament * A person may be saved even though he has not heard of the Gospel. He will be judged by God according to his conscience.
    • The establishment of the Members Church of God International in the Philippines is the fulfilment of Zachariah 8:3, Isaias 24:15 and among other prophecies in the Bible because geographically, the Philippines is an archipelago located in the East.
    • Zechariah 13:7-9 was fulfilled in the Members Church of God International when the Iglesia ng Diyos kay Kristo Hesus Haligi at Suhay ng Katotohanan, founded by Nicholas Perez, split into three groups: Levita Gugulan's group, Filomeno Hizon's group and Eliseo Soriano's group.
    • Women should not be allowed to lead the church.[7]
    [edit] Other teachings

    • The Whore of Babylon in Revelations represents the Papacy. The Beast of Revelation is its Anti-Christian Teachings because the church claims that the pope's title is Vicarius Christi. The mark of the beast in the hand or forehead represents all the works of men who wilfully follow the wrong teachings of the harlot. The Roman Catholic Church never declare that Vicarius Filii Dei is an official title of the pope.
    • The Last Supper is not to be commemorated literally. The bread symbolizes the teachings of Jesus and the cup of wine symbolizes the sufferings that Christians must endure.
    • The Bible does not condemn the hormonally imbalanced persons or the gays and the lesbians but the sodomites. Sodomites are heterosexuals who practice homosexual sex because of their perversion. However, they must remain celibate.
    • The soul is a combination of spirit (breath of life) and body including the emotions, memory, faculties. When a person dies, his soul is in the hands of God and will be restored in the resurrection to face judgement.

  3. Thanks for that Strangelove :)

  4. So....are you a fan of these teachings...?...?...?

  5. I am a member of the Church and the teachings are all biblical.

  6. Is Jesus part of the GodHead?

  7. What does this mean exactly:

"Those who have heard of the gospel and of the church must join this church in order to be saved.. "

  8. Of course:

But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
    Heb 1:8

  9. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
    Ephe 5:23

Chist is the saviour of the body, the Church.

So if you are a member of the body, you will be saved.

  10. How do you 'join this church'?

  11. Baptism Ceremony
The word baptize was derived from the Greek word baptizo, which means “immersing.” Baptize, in Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries, means “to make whelmed (that is fully wet); used only (in the New Testament) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance of Christian baptism: - baptist, baptize, wash.”
Baptism is part of the MCGI doctrinal topics. It is an important doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Bible. More detailed meaning of baptism will be discussed in the indoctrination session.
Following are questions frequently asked in preparation for baptism:
    Q. What is a baptism ceremony?
    A. It is a formal procedure by which one is admitted as an official member of MCGI. It is administered by a baptizer. (Mat. 28:19; Acts 8:26-40)
    Q. Who can be a candidate for baptism?
    A. A person who has completed the indoctrination sessions and has fully understood the whole doctrines, in his own free will may receive the baptism.

  12. So if someone hasn't performed this water baptism ceremony after completing an 'indoctrination session' then they are not saved? Correct?

  13. We can't say that categoricallly. We leave them to God.

But them that are without God judgeth
    1 Cor 5:13

Perhaps some of them had shown mercy in their lives and therefore would receive mercy:

For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
    James 2:13

  14. Well, the teachings of the church that you posted say CATEGORICALLY that you have to join that church to be saved and you say CATEGORICALLY that this baptism ritual amd 'indoctrination session' is the way to join.

So shall we put that down as an error and move on to the next point?

  15. Haha! Are you angry Strangelove?

Let me put it this way:

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
    Ephe 5:23

Was it categorical when it was said that Christ is the saviour of the body?

  16. Yes it was....whats that got to do with anything?

    What is the 'Church'?

  17. Well, that is where the teaching "must join this church in order to be saved" came from.

Christ will save the body. So you need to join the body in order to be saved. You say it is categorical. So you agree then in order to be saved you must join the body, correct?

My next question is, is this verse categorical:

But them that are without God judgeth
    1 Cor 5:13
It's the Church that was preached by our Lord Jesus Christ.
