Our God is merciful to us as we are like sheep that have all gone astray. The earth has become void and without form as we have ALL gone astray…but our God sends the Light so that we may return unto the Shepherd.
1 Peter 2:25 KJV
(25) For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
The Son of God is come to give us an understanding (the Light) of Him who is true.
1 John 5:20 KJV
(20) And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
And we are to HEAR the Truth and behave as children of the day and cast off the works of darkness…..the envying, strife, contentions, COMPLAINING, wrath, finding fault with others, etc. Some will complain of the "line upon line" approach as the stringing together of various verses to them will seem like nonsense.
The Light comes into the world but the darkness comprehends it not….for men shall behave in evil as they will not hear and receive the Light. Unbelieving men shall not come into the Light but instead love their own evil thoughts and ways as they persecute others.
John 3:17-21 KJV
(17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
(18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(19) And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Everyone that does evil hates the Light of the knowledge of God…for they will hear in unbelief and contradict and persecute. Any one that does not behave in love is not born of God….but is still in the darkness.
(20) For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
(21) But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
He that hates his brother ….those brothers who will preach the Light to them….is in DARKNESS and walks in DARKNESS…speaking evil of them and finding fault. The DARKNESS has blinded his eyes so that he can not comprehend the words of Light.

(10) He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
(11) But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
And God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters…”
The “waters” are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (Revelation 17:15)
The atmosphere (heaven) is the medium by which words travel to our hearing….in this case, the Word of God is spoken in our ears….in our hearing ears. If any man has ears to hear, let him hear. We are to take heed on how we hear....as a Light shining in a dark place....as the day star rises in our hearts. We are to behave as children of the day.
Genesis 1:6-8 KJV
(6) And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
(7) And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
(8) And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
The heavens DECLARE the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork. There is SPEAKING going on in the heavens.
Psalms 19:1-4 KJV
(1) To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day the heavens UTTER speech ….
(2) Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
There is no speech nor language (waters), where their voice is not HEARD. Let there be a firmament in the midst of the “waters”…HEARING His VOICE in the midst of the languages of men (the “waters”).
(3) There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
The “firmament” speaks of the “expanse” ….the spreading out…of the Word of God to the hearing of ALL of the earth in EVERY language of men. The Word of God is FIRM in the hearing of men’s ears…the heavens. The day star shall arise in our hearts as the sun of righteousness.
(4) Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Faith comes by HEARING and HEARING by the Word of God….the Light.
Romans 10:17-18 KJV
(17) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The “firmament” is the EXPANSE of the Word of God into all the earth.
“Have they not HEARD?” Of course they have. There is no excuse…for the words have gone out unto the ends of the world….covering it like the expanse of the atmosphere (the “firmament”) which surrounds the earth. It has gone out in EVERY LANGUAGE….in the midst of the waters of men.
(18) But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
The good news which we HEAR was preached to every creature which is under heaven.

The “firmament”….the expanse…is where the Word of God is HEARD in EVERY language for devout men out of EVERY nation UNDER HEAVEN heard the noise ABROAD so that the multitude came together.

(6) Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man HEARD them speak in his own language.
How does EVERY man HEAR in his own language wherein we were born? Let there be a firmament in the midst of the “waters”….as His Word (the Light) is heard (firmament) in every language of men (waters).

The “wonders in heaven above” is the hearing of the Word of God as spoken through the Spirit into the ears of the hearers.

Heaven and earth shall pass away but His words shall not pass away. We are to take heed on how we HEAR when His words enter our ears and our hearts.

The hearing of His words shall separate the believers from the unbelievers in the churches. Some will mock....they are full of new wine.

And He shall raise us up together and make us to sit together in “heavenly places” (Greek: epouranios = ABOVE the sky) in Christ Jesus. We were once dead in sins and trespasses....the earth BECAME void and without form but He sends the Light and we are to hear and believe in Him.

Jesus Christ our Lord is ABOVE every name…above things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth.

The “waters” under the heaven were gathered together and were called “seas”…that is, “to roar”. It is unbelieving men who gather together as roaring seas against the hearing of the Word of Truth to speak out in disagreement….in their envy and strife and wrath.

They will gather together...separating themselves having not the Spirit…. and will “roar” as the seas against the Truth….as they will behave ungodly towards the hearing of the Truth.

God has made “heaven” and earth and sea and all that is in them. The Word of God makes the "seas" of men for they will hear His voice and "roar" against it.

Now in the next 2 verses we find the previous being paraphrased. The “heaven” is God speaking in our hearing ears by the mouth of His servant David. The earth has become without form and void as the people image vain things.
(25) Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
The “waters” were gathered together as the "seas" under heaven….as they gather against the Lord and against His Anointed in their threatening.
(26) The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
(27) For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

The “seas” roar in their wrath ... “behold their threatenings…”

Woe to the multitude of many people which make a noise like the noise of the SEAS.

Acts 4:24-30 KJV
(24) And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
Now in the next 2 verses we find the previous being paraphrased. The “heaven” is God speaking in our hearing ears by the mouth of His servant David. The earth has become without form and void as the people image vain things.
(25) Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
The “waters” were gathered together as the "seas" under heaven….as they gather against the Lord and against His Anointed in their threatening.
(26) The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
(27) For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
(28) For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
The “seas” roar in their wrath ... “behold their threatenings…”
(29) And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
(30) By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
Woe to the multitude of many people which make a noise like the noise of the SEAS.
Isaiah 17:12-14 KJV
(12) Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
(13) The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
(14) And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
Jehovah on high is mightier than the noise of many waters.....men who will rise up in their wrath to speak the vain things of their imaginations against the Truth.
Psalms 93:3-5 KJV
(3) The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
(4) The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
(5) Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
