Strait Is The Gate, And Narrow Is The Way, Which Leadeth Unto Life....

Discussion in 'Bible Study' started by Wheelz, Jun 9, 2014.

  1. If the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in us, then He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also give LIFE (“eternal life”….an age-lasting life….the life of Jesus) to our MORTAL BODIES by His Spirit that dwells in us. Our mortal bodies are dead already because of sin. We are all perishing away…decaying away…to the grave as we walk this earth. He came into this world to save us from perishing because of sin.

    Romans 8:10-14 KJV
    (10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
    (11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

We are debtors not to the flesh….not to live after the flesh for if we live after men’s covetousness and the envying, strife and hatred of one another that comes along with it, then we shall die.

    (12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

If we hear the Spirit today and live according to His Spirit and mortify the deeds of the body, we shall LIVE (have “everlasting life”) in the here and now. We have to BELIEVE this though.

    (13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
    (14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

The true “spirit-body” is the mortal body that is ruled by the Spirit of God…..the Breath of God. We are to be LED by the Spirit (Breath) of God. We refrain our tongues from speaking evil and deceit. The breath that comes out of our mouths will not carry evil words spoken with the tongue.

    Psalms 34:11-16 KJV
    (11) Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
    (12) What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

    (13) Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
    (14) Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
    (15) The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

The face of the LORD is against them that do evil as they are cut off from the earth.

    (16) The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

It is in the HERE AND NOW that we receive our reward for our good or evil.

    Proverbs 11:31 KJV
    (31) Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

The wicked will not prolong their days.....

    Ecclesiastes 8:13 KJV
    (13) But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.

If we do “mortify”….DEADEN….the deeds of the body, we shall LIVE….have “eternal life”. If we are “dead” with Christ in the likeness of His death, then we BELIEVE that we shall also LIVE with Him knowing that Christ being raised from the dead DIES no more. Death has NO DOMINION over Him. Death also shall not have dominion over our mortal bodies for the Spirit does give us His life.

    Romans 6:5-11 KJV
    (5) For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
    (6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
    (7) For he that is dead is freed from sin.
    (8) Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
    (9) Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
    (10) For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
    (11) Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We must keep the “daily” sacrifice….bearing about in the mortal body the dying of the Lord Jesus who LOVES us and gave His life as a sacrifice for our lives so that His life shall be made MANIFEST in our mortal bodies….our MORTAL FLESH. We are to have LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER….the daily sacrifice. The life of Jesus within us shall also SHINE to the outer mortal body as we shall NOT DECAY….perish….to the grave.

    2 Corinthians 4: KJV
    (10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
    (11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

Whosoever shall believe “INTO” HIM….as His life shall appear in our mortal flesh….shall not PERISH (the flesh shall not be destroyed, DECAY) but have “eternal life”….an age-lasting life.

    John 3:14-17 KJV
    (14) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
    (15) That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
    (16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

We walk in the same footsteps of Jesus. He was raised from the dead and now no more to return to “corruption”….that is, DECAY. “Immortality” = undecaying of the body.

We also who are already DEAD in trespasses and sins shall we be raised into newness of life and will not see decay of the flesh for His life shall appear in our mortal bodies which keeps us standing in this world so that the world may see His appearing glory and they will glorify God. We shall be also seen "MANY DAYS"...for we shall continue to live with His life as witnesses.

    Acts 13:30-41 KJV
    (30) But God raised him from the dead:
    (31) And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
    (32) And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
    (33) God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
    (34) And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

Thou shall not suffer thine Holy One to see “corruption”….that is, DECAY of the flesh….perishing. “Holy one” in Psalms 16:10 is plural: “holy ones”…. for we follow in His footsteps.

    (35) Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
    (36) For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption

He whom God raised again saw no “corruption”….DECAY of the mortal flesh. And through this One is preached unto us the forgiveness of sins so that we may have His life appear in us.

    (37) But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
    (38) Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
    (39) And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
    (40) Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;

But the unbelievers….the despisers…shall wonder and perish from off the face of the earth. For if we sow after the flesh, then we reap decay (corruption) in the flesh.

    (41) Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

We are to respond with goodness towards what we hear….the good news of God. We are not to be ashamed of His words when He has testified that death has been rendered idle (abolished) and LIFE (an age-lasting life) and immortality has been brought to light through the good news (gospel). We are to BELIEVE and have His life NOW.

    2 Timothy 1:10-12 KJV
    (10) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
    (11) Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
    (12) For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Whatsoever a man sows, that he shall reap also. If we sow after the flesh (envy, strife, hatred, divisions, wrath), then we shall reap of the mortal flesh “corruption”…that is, we shall decay away to the grave (what we all call “aging”). Our mortal bodies shall die so that the spirit may be saved. He is Lord of the dead for He died also.

But if we sow according to the Spirit (as we hear the Spirit speaking to us and live according to it), we shall of the Spirit reap LIFE “everlasting”. He is Lord of the living also for He died and NOW LIVES and so we LIVE NOW.

    Galatians 6:6-10 KJV
    (6) Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
    (7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
    (8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

What shall we reap in due season? LIFE EVERLASTING…a non-perishing life…. in the here and now. We shall reap a life that does not perish away to the grave as we shall not see “corruption”….DECAY. But we have to BELIEVE. So let us do good unto ALL men….especially towards the brothers who come to preach His words of life and spirit to their ears.

    (9) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
    (10) As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

We will know that we will have passed from death unto life because we love the brothers. We will hear the brothers who will come to speak the good news of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We shall respond with all goodness. But those who will respond in their hatred do not have “eternal life” abiding in them. They are abiding in death….for their bodies are decaying away to the grave already. The world is condemned already…for all are dead even when they walk in this earth. Their flesh is being destroyed already as they abide under the wrath of God and have not entered into His rest.

    1 John 3:14-16 KJV
    (14) We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
    (15) Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
    (16) Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

We are His purchased possession. We have this treasure in earth vessels. We are kept standing in the here and now by the power of God…..as we DO His commandment to keep the daily sacrifice….having love for one another even when they persecute us. We are persecuted but NOT DESTROYED.

    2 Corinthians 4:7-11 KJV
    (7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
    (8) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
    (9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
    (10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
    (11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

We are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise and the evidence which is “open” is the MANIFEST LIFE of Jesus in our mortal flesh…..the “earthen vessel”. We shall CONTINUE MANY DAYS…..having “eternal life” in the here and now as the power of God keeps us standing.

    Jeremiah 32: KJV
    (13) And I charged Baruch before them, saying,
    (14) Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.
    (15) For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
    (16) Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,

It is the power of God….His great power…that shall keep us standing in this life. Nothing is too hard for Him….the God of all flesh.

    (17) Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
    (18) Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,
    (19) Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

We came into this earth to POSSESS it. The meek shall inherit the earth. But what has happened? We have not obeyed His voice nor have walked in His law to have love for one another. We have done NOTHING of all that He has commanded us to do. Therefore, all the evil of this world has came upon us.

    Jeremiah 32:22-27 KJV
    (22) And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
    (23) And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:

If we do not obey His commandment to have love for one another, then we fall victim to false prophets who come with the flattering tongue to lead us astray unto the destruction of the flesh.

    (24) Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.
    (25) And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
    (26) Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
    (27) Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

MANY false prophets are gone out into the world and have deceived MANY….leading MANY astray from the keeping of the “daily” sacrifice to have love for one another . We are to do to men that we would have them do to us……this is the law and the prophets. But if we do not do this, then we are led astray by false prophets who lead us down the path to the destruction of the flesh.

    Matthew 7:12-15 KJV
    (12) Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
    (13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
    (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
    (15) Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

The spirit…..the BREATH…of the “antichrist” speaks through the false prophets and denies that Jesus Christ IS COME in the flesh….that is, that they deny that in OUR FLESH does His life appear as they lead many away from the “daily” sacrifice of having love for one another as He loved us and gave His life for us. They want you to keep their covenant with death and an agreement with the grave as they lead you there and away from keeping His commandments.

    1 John 4:1-3 KJV
    (1) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
    (2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
    (3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

The tribulation that the false prophets have caused have been widespread. Except that the Lord shorten these days, NO FLESH should be saved.

    Mark 13:19-23 KJV
    (19) For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
    (20) And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
    (21) And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
    (22) For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
    (23) But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

The antichrists are deceivers. They do NOT ABIDE in the doctrine of Christ who taught and commanded us to have love for one another. They take away the “daily” sacrifice so that His life should not be made MANIFEST in our mortal flesh. They deny that Jesus Christ is come in our flesh as they set up the abomination of desolation….covetousness.

    2 John 1:6-12 KJV
    (6) And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
    (7) For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

The “full reward” = His life appearing in our mortal flesh…..eternal life. We are not to keep company with the deceivers and lose our full reward.

    (8) Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
    (9) Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
    (10) If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
    (11) For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Our JOY will be FULL when He shall appear in our mortal flesh. We shall see His face as His life shall appear in ours.

    (12) Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.

The false prophets set up the abomination of desolation which drowns men in DESTRUCTION and perdition. The flesh is being destroyed.

    1 Timothy 6:9-16 KJV
    (9) But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
    (10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
    (11) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
    (12) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
    (13) I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

We are to FLEE from the abomination of desolation….covetousness. We are to flee these things which drown men in destruction and perdition and follow after His righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness. We are to flee from the abomination of desolation into the “mountains” of His righteousness. We are to keep this commandment without spot and unrebukeable UNTIL THE APPEARING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST….whose life shall appear in our mortal flesh. We are to lay hold onto “eternal life”.

    (14) That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

    (15) Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

    (16) Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
