Seeing Through God's Eyes

  1. Seeing Through God's Eyes

    Seeing through God’s Eyes.

    2 Corinthians 5:16-20
16So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

I just wanted to share what my pastor said today.

    1--- Motivation-

What is your motivation to share your faith ?. Paul tells us it should be God’s Love. Love is the driving force behind our motivation to share our faith For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son .By His giving God demonstrated His love for us therefore we should through Christ be compelled to show that love to our fellow man by being Christ’s Ambassadors. Do we really know the meaning of an ambassador ? It is the highest ranking diplomat representative of one country to another. In other words we have been given the highest of God’s honour to represent Him to the world.

    2---- Conviction---

We need to be convinced that Christ died on the Cross for our sins , so that we have a story to tell. Our hearts will be so full of compassion and love that we need to tell others.

    3---- Perception----

vs. 16 -17 We no longer regard anyone from a worldly point of view. If any one is in Christ we are new creations the old has gone and the new has come. We are transformed , born into the Spirit of God ( Just as the worm becomes a beautiful butterfly … Metamorphosis ) our lives has been changed . Now do we want to go back to being a worm or do we want to fly like a butterfly?
We no longer look at people through our human eyes but through the eyes of God . Love compels us. We should not see people as to what they are wearing or how they talk but welcome them , love them and let the Spirit of God do the rest. Christ died for all … Let’s see through God’s eyes.

    4--- Reconciliation…..

We need to have the gift of encouragement not of confrontation. Make friends again with God.

5--- Function in the Body of Christ.

Because of the love God has for us , we have full power with the Holy Spirit to represent Christ to the world. We need to know who He is . We need to know the Word of God. We need to know that God is love and anything else that does not line up with the Word of God is false teaching. Don’t add or take away from the Word. Speak the Word in truth and love.

Always remember , Jesus Christ said, “ I am the way the truth and the life.”

We need to see through God’s eyes and His heart.

  2. But we are also instructed to chose our friends wisely. We can't always be gracious. Especially to the unbelievers.

Proverbs:12:26 The righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray.
  3. Good point., Mellow, thanks.:):D
  4. But we can be led by the Holy Spirit in love to love these people where they are at without judgement. I am not saying that we should have non- Christian friends but we should be out in the world telling others about Christ at every opportunity we have. We are the light of the world. In other words we shouold not be hiding our light under a bushel.

If we truly love God , His love will spill over onto others.
