Even though Satan and all his angels are not in their final place of torment, they are suffering from the penalties of their sins today.
James 4:7.. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Fleeing refers to "fear!! Fear has torment!
James 2:19.. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Someone who trembles is also suffering from "fear" which is torment.

Suppressing the truth is all the devil can do by keeping people in darkness. The light of the Gospel dispels the darkness. No amount of darkness can over power light. For light has shined in darkness, but the darkness could not lay hold upon it.
