Sabbath 9/23/17 Seventh Day Baptist Edgewater Pastor Keith sermon “Flood Faith” Hebrews 11:7
The Lord came to Noah saying the earth was wicked and for him to build an ark because God was sending a flood. By faith in God, Noah built the ark in fear of the Lord. The Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and tribulations. Jesus said Noah’s story should be a warning to us. Men will be eating/drinking and be surprised by the flood. Our world today is reserved for a fiery destruction!
God is saying that Noah is an example of what Faith should be like. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen. Noah had never seen rain before because God used a mist from the ground to water the land. While he built the ark, Noah preached for 120 years that a flood was coming. No one listened and they were all destroyed.
Today’s “science” has placed doubts in God, in Noah and in the flood. Many people don’t believe that the flood ever happened. Other nations have stories of a great flood. On the tops of high mountains, scientists have found fossils of sea creatures. God is witness that the flood happened in several places in His Word-the Bible. We Christians always believe God when no proof is available. Faith is what Noah had and Faith is what we have. Faith in God.
