Sabbath 11/19/16 Seventh Day Baptist Daytona Pastor Wray sermon “Giving Thanks to God”
I Thessalonians 5:18

Thanksgiving means to most people the family meals, the turkey and dressing. Saints, we are blessed in America. We have the freedom in America to go where we want and to buy what we want, as long as we have the money. We are Blessed! Counting our blessings and giving God thanks is what Thanksgiving is all about. We shouldn’t just do this one time a year. We ought to be thankful everyday all year long because we are blessed. We need to be humble and grateful. God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble. Ingratitude is a sin of its own. Not being grateful to God is a sin. We must show God our thanks giving. Everyone has something that they should give thanks to God for. Here in America we have much to thank God for.

Ever since God created the world, His eternal power has been seen. People should all glorify God and give thanks to Him. God’s existence as the All Powerful, All Wise Creator is there for us to see. He is the force behind everything. Some people call God Mother Nature. We know this is not true. God is not Mother Nature. God is God and we should be thankful to Him. When we see what God has done in this universe and we know what He will do in the future, we should be thankful. Failing to give thanks is a sin. It’s a great sin not to thank God for our many blessing. We should know that God is always there for us and we need to give thanks to God.

Before we eat food, we need to give prayers of thanks giving to God. Do you give thanks to God in the presence of others? Do you give thanks in public? Do you give thanks in a restaurant? Giving thanks shows that you are thankful for the food and also that you want to honor God. This is a witness to others that God is honored in your life. Bowing your heads at the restaurants and thanking God for the food will make God happy and He will bless you.

We all should have thanks giving to God every day for our blessings. Giving thanks to God should always be done and we should always praise God too. Do this anywhere and everywhere. Praise God, Thank God wherever we go. God is the giver of every good and perfect gift. He is our Father in Heaven so thank God.

AMEN

Always!!
One time a hand full of us were praying for our meal and the waitress came and asked for prayer and then later another came and asked for prayer.

So this not only thanked God on our behalf but opened up the door for several others to get prayer who may not have other wise. Changed their day and lives.

Another time we had prayed for 20 dollars we desperately needed as we walked to the stores and sitting in a little Caffè inside target we prayed for our snacks and prayed for all the customers and employees and forgave them before we had to deal with any of them.

A lady sat and watched and when we were done she walked up and said it was nice to see some one praying for others And hands us a 20 dollar bill and said you could put this to better use then she could.

Just a couple of testimonials of God And Praying in the open.
Blessings
