Re-thinking "Job"

I'll try one more time...

Fear his kids would die in their sins... hence all the sacrifices when they partied. That's why when they died he said "what I feared came"... He was doing what he was doing out of fear and not in faith. If you watch porn, you're opening the door to the seducing spirits. You eat nothing but junk food, you're opening the door to the spirit of infirmity and gluttony. You talk about your neighbor, you're opening the door to the spirit of gossip. Be holy for I am holy says the Lord. When we don't deal with those thoughts that exalt themselves above the promises of God, those thoughts are seeds planted in the garden of our minds which bear fruit in due time and then we have to deal with them as they affect our bodies.
I don't completely disagree. But c'mon man, fearing our kids die in their sin opens the door literally to '''satan'' himself. Job got a very raw deal then.

Reread what I said... making it an obsession is wrong. Things NOT done if faith is sin. I didn't write it, Paul did. The only other option is God did all the evil. Is that true? No. So what was it? What legal right did the devil have access to Job? Satan's name means Accuser. God is the Judge and the devil is the Prosecutor. Jesus is our Lawyer, something Job cried out for, Job 16:21. We talk about the Law, Judges, Accuser, and Lawyers all the time. Therefore, everything is legalees...

@Silk Ok God then why did God allow Job to be attacked? It wasn't for talking... that didn't happen until after his "buds" chewed him out. So what legal right did the devil have to attack Job?

Legal right? Humanity gave dominion to satan when we fell in the Garden. It does not say in scripture that Job was obsessed. It says he worried about his children. That he loved his children. Christ walked and lived in the spirit - He was crucified. Bad things happen to good people. All of the original Apostles were cruelly murdered, except John who they tried to boil in oil (or something) and miraculously was saved and went on to exile in Patmos where he wrote Revelations. Bad things happen to good people. On this earth plain. They are restored in Heaven. Because life on this planet isn't all that there is. It's a short period when you think about eternity. Job is considered the earliest book written (in canon) and we are still talking about it 4,000 (?) years later. I didn't write the scriptures. And God called Job blameless. We live in a fallen and corrupted world. Good Christians, who walk in spirit, are still burgled. They still die physical death. They still lose children to disease. They still lose their jobs. They still get sick. They still get old. They still get murdered. In faith, they are promised restoration and so much more. I walk in faith and yet I have continuous pain where even typing is very hard. And I have zero energy. I ask for release but I don't blame God for allowing it nor do I question my faith. Because I don't know the reason for it (maybe it is my own fault?) but I know that it will end some day soon. I'm not whinging (much) because I have had more than my share of blessings. But I understand the book of Job.

Now I feel like I'm being mocked....whatever. Along with reading post #57, Horn & Putnam draw parallels with the Revelation dragon as quoted below. Leviathan is mentioned 4 times in the bible:
Job_41:1
Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
Psa_74:14
Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
Psa_104:26
There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.
Isa_27:1
In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

Coming full circle, Satan portrayed as a seven-headed dragon is reminiscent of Leviathan, who is similarly judged (Isaiah 27: 1). The Leviathan-Behemoth tradition, discussed previously (Enoch 60: 7– 8), also informs the symbols for the Antichrist as the first beast that “rose out of the Sea” (13: 1) and the False Prophet as “another beast coming up out of the earth” (13: 11). While the two humans are defeated and thrown into the Lake of Fire, according to another ancient tradition, Leviathan and Behemoth are barbecued and served: And it shall come to pass when all is accomplished that was to come to pass in those parts, that the Messiah shall then begin to be revealed. And Behemoth shall be revealed from his place and Leviathan shall ascend from the sea, those two great monsters which I created on the fifth day of creation, and shall have kept until that time; and then they shall be for food for all that are left. (2 Baruch 28: 7).[ 235]

Silk, I'm very sorry that you feel mocked by me. I had no intention of doing so. But I do thank you for your reply.

You are very studious when it comes to scripture. It is no doubt a gift from God. I praise God because of you!

Silk the early apostles lived in another time and what happened to them can not be compared to what is being talked about. That is just grasping for things to prove a point just like twisting all the meanings or uses of the word fear.

God called Job blameless - Yes and why and to what accusations. Why it was because the entire purpose was to get Job to curse God for satan loves to tear down those who are living in the Blessing of the Lord. Now then Job did not curse God and this is to what the purpose was or satans purpose to get job to curse God.

This how ever does not change anything about what scripture teaches us about our words and acting in fear and doubt and unbelief and worry and so forth. Silk we do not get to pick and choose what the word of God applies to and what it does not or where it applies and where it does not. The word of God never changes.

Look at the parable of the sower. This shows us how satan comes right now to steal the word from you. It teaches us how he does this. The devil comes to steal , kill and destroy and he uses fear and doubt and worry and unbelief to name a few. So if worry and fear and lacking faith can aid the devil in his purpose then how can you say it is simply a normal emotion and nothing wrong with it ?

Fear of what could happen is putting a twisted faith in it. Sure it is - if you did not believe it could happen then it would not be a threat or worry or fear - any time we fear something like this we have put a twisted faith in it. Fear out kids might sin and curse God and go run with the devil. If you do not nip this fear right then and there and turn it into faith and trust in God then you are placing more trust in the fear or what could be then what is.

When one walks in fear their actions reflect fear - yes even job - for Job said he had no rest or had no peace. What stole jobs rest or peace ? Why worry and fear is what did this. Job said he had no rest which tells us he was so busy with worry and fear that he was not walking in His faith and trust in God for if he had job would not have been with out peace or rest. Job was a normal man. Job worried and had no rest so look at it like this - when you have no rest from worry you have probably paced the floors and your mind was busy in this worry and so forth. Job tells us he was like this.

Silk all these things you add to this to make your point is not truly 100 percent in context at all. Yes people die and get sick and so forth but what does this have to do with allowing or giving the devil a door that he should not have had ?

To say God gave satan permission to harm job is saying we can not truly trust in God for our safety because you never know when God will say hey devil, here is one for ya - go get him.
That is simply stinken thinken and oposed to the written word of God.
Blessings
Jim

So are you saying that all the christian's who are persecuted, raped and murdered have a lack of faith, or have a residing sin that has not been repented of?

You are the one twisting and ignoring scripture @Fish Catcher Jim. No one said tho that you should allow the devil a door.....but by dominion of this world ....that door was already opened. You say Job opened a door - scripture says God said he was blameless. God restores the faithful - but that is not always on earth. Feel free to believe as you wish.

Silk I love you and pray Gods best over your life but your understanding of satans authority and or dominion is not 100 percent correct. Silk why would any one need to be restored in Heaven ? What is there to be restored in Heaven where there is no sickness or evil or ssin or anything like that ? No we need it here.

I believe the written word of God.
God Bless
Jim

Have I said this yet ?

No, but it is implied by the statement about trusting God and His provision of safety.
I have full faith that God has the power to keep me safe
However I have a full realization that my safety is NOT a priority, and there is a promise that I will be persecuted for my faith.

Did I say that? Actually it was you putting words in my keyboard. Stinkin thinken is applicable to whom?

Persecution comes for the words sake and does not mean boiled in oil or anything the apostles went through. Persecution and afliction and so forth come as cares and worries of this day and age or you life. The promise is that satan will come to steal the word not that you are promised to be beaten or killed for your faith.

OBTW Klub take a deep look at psalm 91 for starters........is there protection in there?
Blessings

Silk if Job did not allow satan to do this then who did ? Did satan simply just do this on his own ? No otherwise he would not have tried to con God into letting him attack job.

Tell that to the estimated 100,000 christians that die because they declare the Word of God. They have a more powerful testimony than what most people will ever have. They literally died for their faith. This world is worthless compared to the glories of heaven. If we truly have our hearts set on the Lord, our physical protection will be put aside and we should have faith that no matter what happens, be it torture or exile, we still honor God.

So are you saying that all the christian's who are persecuted, raped and murdered have a lack of faith, or have a residing sin that has not been repented of?

Have I said this yet ?

And yet you want us to ignore the realities of what Klub said by saying that Job had it coming. That he opened a door/stepped out of faith in his worry/fear. What does God saying Job was blameless mean in your theology? You are saying Job stepped out of faith and yet because he did not curse God - he was restored. Can you have it both ways?
Maybe I am in constant pain so I will stick with the truth of scripture and not go with what I want it to say.

I thought Satan's name meant adversary.

To say that we need restoration here on earth and not in heaven boggles my mind. Restoration on earth only comes with Christ's 2nd Coming. Heaven IS THE restoration. Heaven - being with God is the reward. Not being comfy here on earth.
