Prayers Please

  1. I haven't been on here in a while due to being so busy in the first weeks of my summer vacation from good ol' college. However, I wanted to take the time to talk to a few of my brothers and sisters on here. I have also come to ask a couple of favors from you all, my friends.

A couple of days ago my mom had some tests done and it turns out that she may be at risk for a certain cancer. The results did not show cancer, but did say that there are some areas that are concerning. I am praying for her every single day. I pray that this is not cancer. Cancer is such a terrible disease.. I am asking that if you are willing, that you keep my mom in your prayers and pray that this does not turn out to be cancer. My mom is my best friend. She is the most fun, loving, caring, and giving individual I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She has raised my sister and I alone and has always given us the best possible life. I want her to be around for as long as possible, so I am asking for your prayers. She is so, so, SO incredibly strong so I know she could fight this IF.. this turns out to be that terrible disease, she would fight it hard. But I am hoping that she does not have to go through that. She doesn't deserve to go through that. Thank you all so much for keeping my mom and I in your thoughts and prayers. It means so very much to me. <3

I also have (what I think is called) an unspoken prayer request for myself.. and for a person very dear to my heart.

Thank you all for reading and I pray that God gives me the strength and faith to trust in Him that this will not be cancer for my dear mom. And that He will help me get through some things and give up some bad habits as well.

  2. Liz, I am more than willing to pray for your mom, and for you. Consider it done. God bless you, sister.

  7. I have battled cancer and experienced the same concern. I will be praying for you and your mother -- I will be praying for the Lord's strengthening of you and your mother, as well as for your unspecified request.

I want to express to you how important the support of family and care-givers are in strengthening and encouraging those confronted with these issues.

Keep a positive, prayerful attitude. The Lord will be with you.

  8. Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers! If you don't mind me asking.. is your cancer gone? I have so much respect for those who have battled cancer. You are a warrior in my eyes. I will be praying for you as well!

  9. Thanks so much. :)
  10. In 2011 I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. In March/April of 2012 I underwent chemo therapy. That summer, I had my bladder removed. All tests since then have shown me to be cancer free (but it can come back any time).

I am active in a support group for persons that have had ostomies and we meet at least once a month. We also run a supply sharing operation.

  11. Wow, that escalated and went really fast then. Or I'm sure it didn't seem too fast when you were going through it. It probably felt like a lifetime. It's scary how fast cancer works. I am glad that you're cancer-free though and I will pray that you stay that way. Thanks for sharing :)
  12. Praying for you guys Liz! :)
  13. Thank you very much :)
  14. Father we lift up Liz's mom right now. We commit body, spirit and soul. We pray that you will remove fear from both of their hearts.. I pray that you will fill them with Your comfort. Go ahead of them and prepare the way for them. I pray that you will give wisdom to the doctors who would perform the tests. Man's wisdom is foolishness in your sight. I pray that you will increase the trust this family has in You Lord. Let them not just hope for things to be normal. But let them have complete trust and faith that everything is going to be normal. Increase their faith. Tough times always tests the faith of a person. I pray that this family will come through this with complete trust in You. We see the love sister Liz has for her mom. Thank for you for giving her this mom and thank you for giving Liz as her daughter. A praying daughter. We commit her also in your hands. Bring peace to her heart. We also pray for the unspoken needs she has. You know the depths of our hearts. You know all our needs. We commit each and every one of them into your hands Lord. We ask it in the name of Jesus, Amen.

  17. I'll pray right now, but I might forget in the future. One prayer might be all that it takes though.
