Poem#64 Forgetting Love
John 14, Matthew 22:34-40
Far too many are claiming to be of Christ yet do not Love another
Missing the logs in our own eyes while taking a knife to another’s
Forgetting the only One Worthy to hold the knife is Jesus
We’ve been developing selective amnesia on why Jesus came
And how Jesus showed compassion on those battling the flesh
He didn’t point fingers, take up stones to throw Like He could’ve
Instead Jesus took up our battles of the flesh & fought for us
Jesus took our Battles to be His Death on the Cross to Save Us
Never Forget it was Love that Forgave Us Before we Knew Love
When seeing our Neighbors out in the condemned world of Sin
Remember why Jesus took our place on the Cross for Our Sins
How God first Loved us in showing what it means to repent
The way to changing a Heart is through showing the Love of God
Only God can change hearts to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Since Jesus forgave Sin has no power over where we spend eternity
Jesus told us a New Commandment which is to Love One Another
This is how Jesus knows we Love Him, through feeding His Sheep
Good thing Jesus forgives this Sin too as we disobey more then Love
Jesus is the Son of God, calling on Jesus is the Way to be saved
Believing doesn’t stop in a prayer, it continues in Surrendering death
So we can be risen with Jesus His Life we Live so can’t forget to Love
If we’re Truly Living in Christ His Holy Spirit will show us to Love
The Holy Spirit will never let us forget to Love like Jesus loved Us
The Holy Spirit Truths us to our Knees reminding us To Love People
