Please minister me

  1. Good day
I'm new here so please forgive me if I post in the wrong place. Im happily married for 22 years to my god loving hubby. We have 2 beautiful boys. We serve the Lord. My husband lost his job in March. He had a good position and earned a big salary. We trust and know the Lord will provide a new job and will take care of us in the meanwhile. He provides in miraculous ways. The waiting is difficult though. We have good support from friends, family and church. I need someone to minister and support me through this please. Will you please prayerfully decide if you can give advice etc? It is a very hard time we are going through, and we pray that Christ will be honoured through this painful situation. Thank you in advance.
  2. My wife and I recently went through this ourselves. My wife is a pediatric home health nurse and the family decided she was not needed anymore for the care of the child. She was without work for about 2 months. During the time she was without work, she was looking for work with another home health agency, but there were not a lot of openings in our area. She would have had to drive 100 miles a day to care for sick children.
We kept talking about the positions and praying about them as they came up. I didn't say a word about her not having a job. I encouraged her as I could. We have a prison in the city where we live. They were in desperate need of nurses. She applied there and the process is long and arduous. I started donating to KCM on a monthly basis. The next day, we heard she was hired and was to start the next day.She will eventually be the infectious disease nurse for the prison. She will be going to California for training soon.
During the time she was without work, I didn't badger her or put any undue pressure on her to get a job. I trusted God to provide her a job, the right job. The point I want to make, is to support your husband both in prayer and emotionally. These can be trying times for the both of you. I know you know to do this, but honor God in all you do. Put Him first in everything you do. God will see you through this time.

    Hebrews 2:16-18 (AMP)
16 For, as we all know, He [Christ] did not take hold of angels [the fallen angels, to give them a helping and delivering hand], but He did take hold of [the fallen] descendants of Abraham [to reach out to them a helping and delivering hand]. 17 So it is evident that it was essential that He be made like His brethren in every aspect, in order that He might become a merciful (sympathetic) and faithful High Priest in the things related to God, to make atonement and propitiation for the peoples sins. 18 For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and rested and tried [and who are therefore are being exposed to suffering].

Notice in verse 18, it says He is able immediately to run to the cry of those who are being tempted, tested, tried and suffering.
When we cry out because of the temptation, test, the trying and the suffering, JESUS RUNS to assist and relieve us.
So when we are in the midst of it, remember to cry out to Jesus remembering He is running to your aid.
Isn't that encouraging! Jesus runs to your aid!
I'll be praying for you. Have a great day.

  4. Sorry for the duplicates
  5. Thank you so much filarks for your encouragement. And Scripture. I guess we always are uneasy when in Gods waiting room. We want Him to act quickly and to get rid of the "problem". His priority is to let us become more and more like Jesus. This is always painful? Sorry I think I created a duplicate.

  6. Not a problem. We will continue to pray for y'all. I believe God will provide! He is everything you need. He's never late. One of the attributes of God the Father is that He carries you as a Parent does a child. He nurtures you and cares you you. He is your ever present help in the time of trouble.

  8. Hi Daisy welcome! Blessings to you and your husband. As i have also been where you are, i would encourage you to pray asking God for some Scriptures to stand on. One's that bring you comfort and encouragement, while you stand in faith and patience. Search the concordance for things like trusting in God, and Him being your sole provider. And praying according to phil 4:6-7. Always in faith, and thanksgiving. For faith is what pleases God.

Father, thank You for Daisy and her husband. Thank You that they are your sheep and they know Your voice. You are their source and their provider, and we thank You for supernaturally providing for them and for giving them the peace that passes all understanding, that You are faithful. Bless them O Lord with grace and peace, showing them that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. In Jesus Name, Amen

  9. I too an unemployed and not old enough to fully retire, and the money slowly drains away,
I get anxious about it, until I read phillipians....Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
I know my eternal future is secure but I have a tendency to look at the near term,
if there were no God then I would need to really worry,
but there is a God and He does look at me and does understand and is able to meet all my needs,
our difficulty is we are flesh and look at things through flesh eyes, we need to kick ourselves in the backside and say the past is past and i'm looking to the future which is something new,
not the same, if we measure our lives by prosperity then I think that is a pretty poor measure.

  10. I too have been unemployed since this last March. The waiting was absolutely awful after the second month. All I was asking myself for the longest time was 'Lord, why'. It took me weeks to set aside my pride and my sense of 'I know better'. It wasn't really an inward expression of such, but an outward. I was applying for any and all jobs that 'looked good'. What I was failing to do in my anxiety and anger was handing it over to the Lord. I have since handed it to the Lord and although I am still waiting for a job, I wait in happiness, comfort, and anticipation instead of anger and a sense of entitlement. My latest readings these last couple months from Acts to 1 Corinthians truly gave me comfort as it expresses the deep love God has for us. A great eye opener was when I was feeling worthless, my prior pastor's wife stated in an email to me that although we feel down and without, because we are in Christ we have abundance.

This could very much be a trial the Lord is putting your husband and family through. With all trials though, He will never cease to provide, He's still right there, always providing a way out when we are tempted to stray (1 Cor 10:13). Keep that communication open with the Lord and from the depths of your hearts, give your husband's employment situation along with everything else over to the Lord and let Him work His wonders.

I will keep your family and your husband in my prayers. May the Lord continue to bless you and guide you, in Jesus name.

  11. Thank you so much for sharing Brian. We made Phil.4:6-13 part of our spirit during these times. 1.We try not to worry. As we are human and sometimes DO worry we immediately say "I choose to trust in Jesus ou Lord" when we are tempted to worry. 2. We pray about everything ...we tell the Lord everything we need. And up till now He provided in every need. 3. We thank Him for everything. 4. We make His peace part of our souls. 5. We make an effort to be content. 6. We know His strength is our strength too.
Another "tip" I can share through our experience is try to keep on giving...your time, if possible share what little you have with others in need.
Brian, I pray that our Lord will provide for you from His abundance through Jesus and that He will bless you! Please keep me up to date on your situation. If you want to we can keep in touch and encourage each other.

  13. Thank you so much for your kind words. I will indeed keep you up to date on my situation, and please keep us up to date on yours. I did have an interview for an unpaid internship position that may/may not turn into a full time position, but we'll see. I have to pray on it to see if this is what God wants me doing. Blessings to you and yours, in Jesus name.

  14. DaisyD, One of hardest times to have faith, and trust in the Lord is when every thing is going great, and you have plenty of money to cover all your needs. As a human being we tend to not walk by faith as much in times of plenty. I have been in your exact same position many times in my life, and what has saw me through them all was as I looked back in my past and remembered how the Lord always strengthened and provided for me through them all even when it did not look like it. The Lord is always faithful, and if you have had a history with the Lord in the past them you should already know if he was faithful back then he will also be faithful to you now.

  17. @DaisyD - I hope all is well. I thought I would give you an update to my employment situation. I interviewed for an unpaid internship position today with a Christian company that seeks to spread the Word of God throughout the U.S. They have various educational programs offered through their company, the position I applied for was an assistant professor - grader; so basically the position grades papers from students. I was extended the internship position at the end of the interview which I accepted! I have already started their training. Praise God, as this is what I feel Him pushing me towards, becoming an instructor in some aspect. The not so good news was right after the interview. I went to file my weekly claim for unemployment and it wouldn't go through. I talked to a representative regarding the issue and they told me my unemployment benefits have run out which is a huge blow financially. It's okay though, I am faithful and confident that the Lord will continue to provide!

    Many blessings in Jesus name!

  18. @Brian, thanks for the update and I praise the Lord with you for providing this for you! I belief that He will provide financially too. I learned through our process that God is our Source, our Security. Our money is not our own and we don't work for a salary. We work to illuminate the world around us with Jesus' love. My husband applied for 2 positions. One is in our town the other 120km away. Our oldest is in Gr12 next year so moving immediately will be difficult. Our son wants to study medicine in 2017, and as tertiary education is not free, we really need a miracle. We belief if God is calling him to become a doctor, He will provide a way. I have to admit that sometimes I become a bit discouraged...then I pray again. I am sure if God allow our son to be admitted to medical school he will provide funds for his studies, don't you? I say thank you with you for the position.
    Have a blessed day.

  19. Update on our situation:
My husband was invited about two weeks ago for an interview. It is for a position at a well established international company. We are rather certain that he will get the job. Financially it will bring huge relief for us. The only problem is that the job is in a town 140km away from where we are staying. It will mean my husband will have to stay there and come home only on weekends. Our hearts will be broken, because family and marriage is so important to us. I am not able to move because our oldest son is in Gr12 next year. We dont understand God's plan in this. Is there anyone in a similar situation? Working far from home?
Please keep us in your prayers.
