...Not One Jot or Tittle...

Matthew 5:17-20
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

We see in this that, contrary to the beliefs of our HR friends, the fulfillment of the Law and prophets was not contingent upon Heaven and earth passing away! That is NOT what the above quote is saying in Jesus. Why so many take these words and twist them into saying something that they did not reveal is nothing but additive theology that is not at all what the Lord called for anyone to perpetrate.

Jesus FULFILLED the Law, and said that nothing will pass from the Law until that FULFILLMENT, and that outside of that fulfillment, Heaven and earth passing away is the only OTHER means by which the Law would have passed. He also stated that His presence was not for the purpose of destruction of the Law and the writings of the prophets concerning Himself, but for FULFILLMENT.

In other words, Heaven and earth did not have to pass away in order for Christ to have FULFILLED the Law and prophets, and therefore to establish the new Covenant whereby His change in the Law is written upon our hearts rather than upon tablets of stone or on papyrus.
