Name that tune

  1. Name that tune

Put in a few lines of a song (Christian or not) and see if anyone can name it. I'll start:

It was the dark of the moon on the 6th of June in a Kenworth hauling logs
Cabover Pete with a reefer on and a Jimmie hauling hogs.

    There you go.:):):)

    C.W. McCall

"Lay beside me, tell me what they've done
Speak the words I wanna hear, to make my demons run
The door is locked now, but it's opened if you're true
If you can understand the me, then I can understand the you"

  3. Metallica - Unforgiven???

Well I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
    Oh, no, no, no...

    I'm a ____________

    :D

  4. Rocketman - Elton John.

Well you get down the fiddle and get down the bow
Kick of your shoes and you throw them on the floor
Dance in the kitchen till the morning light.

  5. Sad News -

Just a side note if I may, since this thread started with a 'truck driving song'.

Jerry Reed, the co-star of the 1977-1983 "Smokey and the Bandit" movies, singer and songwriter went to join Our Father on September 01. Our prayers are with his family and friends. He was a very good person and will be missed.

Lyrics to "Eastbound and Down" -

    "Eastbound
and down, loaded up and truckin'
Ah we gonna do what they say can't be
    done
We've got a long way to go, and a short time to get there
    I'm
eastbound, just watch old Bandit run

Keep your foot hard on the
    pedal
    Son, never mind them brakes
Let it all hang out cause we got a run
    to make
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta
    and there's beer in
    Texarkana
We'll bring it back no matter what it takes

    Eastbound and
    down, loaded up and truckin'
Ah we gonna do what they say can't be
    done
We've got a long way to go, and a short time to get there
    I'm
eastbound, just watch old Bandit run

    Eastbound and down, loaded up
    and truckin'
Ah we gonna do what they say can't be done
    We've got a long
way to go, and a short time to get there
    I'm eastbound, just watch old
    Bandit run

Old Smokey's got them ears on
    He's hot on your
    trail
And he ain't gonna rest 'til you're in jail
    So you've got to dodge
him, you've got to duck him
You gotta keep that diesel truckin'
    Just put
that hammer down and give it hell

Eastbound and down, loaded up and
    truckin'
Ah we gonna do what they say can't be done
    We've got a long way
to go, and a short time to get there
I'm eastbound, just watch old Bandit
    run."

  6. Love that song Pastor Gary.
Back in my younger wilder days, me and my buddies decided we were going to hit every bar till we found one that had that song on the jukebox. LOL

  7. Unforgiven II.

I was a metalhead before coming to Christ. It's funny how for me it's difficult to memorize Christian songs, but secular songs that I haven't heard in years pop into my head with amazing clarity. It's depressing sometimes...

"When I wander through the desert, and I'm longing for my home, all my dreams have gone astray..."

  8. Guess this one:

    All the earth rejoice
    He wraps Himself in light
    and darkness tries to hide
    And trembles at His voice
