meaningless trials

Discussion in 'General Discussions' started by autumn oddity, Jul 28, 2015.

  1. I realm would like someone to talk to about all thats is going on in my life at the moment.

I'll send a pm to those who answer
  2. I'm not going to take the PM side on. Rarely, I start something just as an aside to make a comment but that's it so leave me off the list. That and I'm no counsellor or mentor.

I'm finding your message hard to decipher.

If you mean like you go through times when you don't understand why life is going wrong for you, sometimes it feels you are being tortured for no good reason. I'm still in that world, although I can see sometimes I've not helped myself along the way. I'm not Job either I've blazed at God and gone astray...

If I haven't misunderstood what I'm finding hard to translate, I will pray (and maybe I should do anyway).
  3. Guess that comes over a bit mean. Just to explain, I've got too involved in (actually secular music) before - been involved with both meeting people and bitter rows - I've seen both sides years ago so mostly try to keep my distance from personal PM type relationships - it's a "survival" way for me.
  4. I'm trying to understand what you're trying to say..but I still don't get it.. All I'm looking for I a bit of advice..without spilling my business on a public forum for people to pick at..thats why I prefer to pm.
  5. OK, good luck.
  6. I havent been on the forum as long as you so dont know you as well as others may...i think just go on the members list on your profile and PM someone you feel you can trust to give you good advice?
My other advice is give it to the Lord hes always listening.

Trials and tribulations are what every christian goes through on earth, so..its not meaningless. Its just seeing what you made of, do you trust He will bring you through or do we murmer and complain. Remember those who murmured and complained got swallowed up by the earth!!
  7. I think id rather be swallowed by the earth..but I already PMd someone..

  8. Meaningless trails...a scripture:

James 1:2-4, "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trails, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."

  9. Amen Mykuhl,
Now I want to add this to your truth that you brought...Pretty please - put me in coach ;)

True trials do test your faith HOWEVER - BUT - LISTEN UP..........THEY DO NOT come from God. They prove us or our faith by how we respond. If we do not get shook up and stand calmly on His word then yea our faith is being proved true - however if we worry or get all bent or upset or blame God like why are you doing this to me or allowing this to happen then we and our faith are proven - weak and little and shallow and in all truth we fall short.

This SHOULD BE a wake up call to each of us. It is so very easy to sit up there in church with the brethren shouting amen glory to God and God is able. We all know that ------HOWEVER - what is it like or what are you like when the fire gets turned up and trials and trestings or PERSECUTION comes your way big time.?? !! ?? !! This is where the rubber meets the road.

So with Praise and Thanks-giving unto God........Count them joyful and lets see what you are made of......
    God Bless

  10. I know that you have pm'd someone, but if you need to talk about anything i am always here for you :)
  11. There is no such thing as a meaningless trial from a God that knows how many hairs are on your head.

  12. That would be true if God was the author of trials but He is NOT.

  13. Amen, there's no such thing as meaningless trials. The trial in and of itself isn't the focus point, it's the response that matters.

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

Prov 16:9 In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

1 Pet 1:6-7 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Luke 16:20-23 And turning His gaze toward His disciples, He began to say, "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. "Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. "Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. "Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets.

  15. Hello Brother KJ,
I thank you for taking the time to write out these scriptures. I enjoyed reading them for they are truth. Now then lets look at a few scriptures here and lets see about these trials and tribulations and such.

    Lets start with Romans 5:1-5
    1... Therefore being justified by faith, we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;
2... By whom also we have access by Faith into this Grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in the hope and Glory of GOD.
3... AND not only so, BUT we Glory in TRIBULATIONS also; Knowing that tribulation worketh Patience. ( if we allow it too ) remember that.
    4... AND Patience, Experience; and Experience, Hope;
5... AND Hope maketh not ashamed; BECAUSE the LOVE of God is shed abroad in OUR HEARTS by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Ok lets look at this scripture found in John. Then we can tie this all together and and grasp some truth.

    John 16:33
33... These THINGS I have Spoken unto you, That in me ye might have PEACE. In the world ye SHALL HAVE TRIBULATION; BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER; I HAVE OVERCOME THER WORLD.

Ok first off we see this
In Jesus - we have peace
In the World we have tribulation which is also trials and so forth. Now God is NOT of this world or a part of this world- so He is not the author or creator or giver of these trials and tribulations.

Jesus told us in this world we shall have. This means because we are in this world - the worlds system or way of doing things which is what satan is god of. The devil is NOT god of the earth or entire world - JUST AND ONLY it's way of doing things or it's operating manner which is the Babylonian Way or System.

Ok I said to remember the scriptures above....I also said if we allow it to.
That is the KEY POINT - Christ on the Cross defeated these things - HOWEVER in order for these trials to work anything good in our lives we must be living by faith and operating in faith and by His very word. This is the only way a trial can be good for us or work good. We must be MATURE enough in Christ to stay in Faith or another words stay speaking and acting as His word says or simply put DOING WHAT HIS WORD says we should be doing or living as.

For you KJ here is a simple 101 ;)
If we respond to these trials in a Godly way then they can work for our Good HOWEVER if we complain and fight against GROWING UP, then they will hinder us and be as a tripping stone. It is our choice to how these trials work in our lives.

For us as Believers born again in Christ Jesus - simply being in this world is why we have trials and tribulations. ( For the words sake ) and NOT SOMETHING ORCHESTRATED BY GOD.
Remember Jesus said be of Good Cheer for He has over come this world. In Christ so can we but if His word is NOT in our hearts in ABUNDANCE - well these trials will spank us good.

God Bless and have a wonderful day

We can't really say that. God did create the world. God did put the devil with Adam and Eve. God did put the tree in the garden. The question is, is God evil for this? What you are suggesting is understandable as you are trying to exempt God of the evil behind trials and tribulations. You just need to face the fact that He can be behind them and yet not be evil.

Then on peace, the peace of God surpasses all understanding Phil 4:7. Meaning if people see us doing well, peace would not be surpassing their understanding

What 'things' are you suggesting He defeated? That verse says He overcame the world. Overcoming the world = resisting its temptations. Mature / speaking / acting / doing on this subject = sounds right but is in fact adding to scripture. We only overcome the world because we actually do in fact love God. That real relationship we have with God through the Holy Spirit after the cross enables us to have victory over temptations of the world. Like adultery can be easily resisted if we actually love our wife. No ''be mature / speak / act / do X and Y''. That is a return to the law. Unless I am misreading you.

John 16:20-23 Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. 21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. 22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice (heaven), and no one will take away your joy. 23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything (heaven). Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name (ie in heaven).

You see it simply as growing up? When we are mature, no more trials? I see it as God only having 70 years on earth to test us. Not our salvation but rather the depth of our devotion to Him. Kicking and complaining / acting outside of faith would be wanting God to remove the trials He is putting us through. He wants us to grow in trusting in Him despite whatever it is we are going through. The more mature the greater the trial.
    Disagree ;).

And the word is Jesus. If Jesus is not in our hearts we will not overcome the world.

Abundance? Jesus has a foot sticking out the door? I don't believe that is ever the case. Jesus is either in or out of our hearts. We either are or aren't a new creation. We either have love or hate for Jesus.
  17. Kj all I am going to say is your understanding of scriptures and God is limited.
You have pulled scriptures from places that you feel proves your point. I guess they do when you use them for things out of the context in which they were said.

I never once said no more trials. I said when we mature in Christ and His word is in abundance in our heart - then trials can be a piece of cake. We over come them with His word. When His word is in our hearts abundantly - then we operate or act according to this and the trials can help build patience etc.

However if we do not respond to trials in such a way then our true nature or mostly the flesh will respond and this will allow trials to be harder and longer. Again no where did I say we will not have trials.

Your views on God are not 100 percent correct. What happened in the garden again you are not 100 percent correct.

You have not in any way shape or form - showed how God is behind trials and tribulations and so forth. OBTW - Jesus defeated the world and its power over us ( sin ) at the cross. Jesus walked in this earth as a man and showed us how to do the same as He did with out giving into sin.

I thank you KJ for your responce
    Have a very blessed day.
  18. Maybe the difference between trials and tribulation is that trials is something we ourselves struggle with maybe cos of sin in our lives or flesh or temptations and tribulations is things like persecution and things outiside of us thst we dont have any control over.
  19. We may overcome trials and deal with them in a mature way that works patience but tribulation we cant really avoid we must go through it.

So trials are not meaningless but the more we learn and grow the less bother they are to us.
  20. Sorry i hope im not confusing everyone I just see like Jacob wrestling with the angel is like a trial. We enter into it, that way.

tribulation would be like living through the plagues and coming out the other side cos we put the blood on the doorposts.
